My mother used them. I remember ours being printed designs. I have never used them in my home.

No, Mom nor I use them. In my mind it it just one more thing to keep clean.

I still use small appliance covers, but never used the burner covers, thought that looked tacky.

Appliance covers were a big thing in the 50s and 60s, and maybe into the 70s. I have never used them - too cutesy for me, but then the only appliance I keep out is the coffee maker. I prefer a clean look with only one or two appliances on my limited space counters.

I use a toaster cover. But not over my toaster. In one corner of my kitchen counter I have a small open box with bottles of daily supplements placed inside. The toaster cover goes over the box so it disguises what's under it. Now it just looks like I have a toaster sitting there. The cover keeps the supps out of direct light and out of sight. ![]()

@CherryHugs I used them in the 60's and 70's. Even bought a pattern to make my own. The good old days. Now, I prefer most things hidden away until I need to use them.

No covers for me, but I do have fabric grips on the handles of my stainless steel refrigerator. What always cracked me up were those things designed to hide the vacuum cleaner. They looked like little old grannies in long dresses. Never saw a purpose since most vacuums are stored in a closet.

@CherryHugs Thanks for reminding me of these. I really need one for my KA stand mixer. One reason I don't like using the mixer is the time I it takes to clean it first, which of course means it gets a even grimier between uses. Vicious circle or Catch 22?
My mother had a cover for the Sunbeam mixer and a toaster cover, as well. A toaster cover got really singed one time when I (as a very young child) put in some bread & toasted it with the cover on. Oh well, live and learn. She also used burner covers so stuff wouldn't fall down inside under the flame thingies (gas stove) when burner wasn't in use. I've never used them and don't need them as I've had a glass top stove for over 20 years.
I have 2 quilted tea cozies (one of them I sewed myself). I often make pots of tea and it stays hot longer with a cozy.

I've never used them, nor did Mom.

I was born in 1956 and growing up, I remember my DM having a white stove that actually had covers built into the stove. Towards the back of the stove, you lifted up and these long white covers could be pulled over the burners. It helped to keep a clean look to the kitchen. I have never seen anyone else who had that type of stove. Can't remember the manufacturer. It was gas and I remember having to light the oven when you wanted to bake.
Myself, I was a young wife and mother in the '80's and had covers for my toaster, and can opener that matched my Pfaltzgraff dishes in the Yorktowne pattern. I didn't have much storage so these appliances had to sit out on the cabinet but at least there was some cohesiveness to it all with those covers.
