Does anyone remember Fenton glass?

I'm just doing my Christmas decorating and, while I only do a limited amount at this point in my life, I do always put out a few pieces of Fenton glass that I purchased years ago. 3 Burmese glass Santas and a dark blue votive holder with white flocking.  I only purchased a limited number of pieces but I still enjoy them, especially when I put out the Christmas ones.

I know young people don't enjoy these types of "knick-knacks" nowadays but I still enjoy them.

Does anyone remember the Fenton shows? I remember them being on frequently and only thought about them now as I was decorating.

I remember the shows, but never purchased any items.  The gentleman who presented the glassware seemed very nice.

Yes, I bought my mother several of the Fenton cats for her kitchen windowsill and I have a large glass bowl I still use.  It was nice to know they were actually made in West Virginia and not overseas, and they did seem like very nice people representing the line.

Re: Does anyone remember Fenton glass?

@Bookplate  I do remember the cat figurines. They were so pretty! It was a family owned business and Mr. Fenton was the older gentleman who used to represent them on air. I think he retired and his son or grandson (don't recall which) came on towards the end before the business was closed.  As you said, so nice to have a product made in the US!  The shows were fun to watch even when I didn't buy anything. Good memories!

@nambee  I have a cousin that loved Fenton Glass. I bought her a couple for her birthdays. She was thrilled and still has them displayed with her own that she bought.

@nambee   LOVE Fenton art glass...we have nearly 300 pieces I had collected over the years. They are in our livingroom wall unit & curio cabinet.

Many of them are vintage from the 20's-50's and a few of them are about 110-115 yrs old - antiques.  Smiley Happy

@Susan Louise Wow that's some collection! Bet they look beautiful. I've always been a pushover for glassware of all kinds - caught the bug from my Mom and Grandma.  I'm sure they've given you much joy over the years. Continue to enjoy them!

My only piece of Fenton is a Currier and Ives spooner from the '70's. I got it on Etsy from a Canadian seller. While I'm not into kitsch, I just loved this.
