Does anyone here collect Bordallo Pinheiro?

I just love it but I don't know much about it. Do they still make it? I especially like the rabbit pieces and the basketweave pattern.

Bordallo Pinheiro is still in production. I have a few pieces that I collected from eBay to use when setting an autumn-themed table. You can often find pieces at Tuesday Morning, particularly the holiday-themed pieces like Christmas and bunnies. I think the bunny pattern is darling.

Thanks Marsha2003. I will have to check at Tuesday Morning. I purchased a yellow bunny pitcher on the bay, and probably paid too much, but it was really nice. I really love the pink pieces also.

You might want to also checkout Replacements.com, they carry some pieces, although I don't know if they have what you are looking for. My ex-MIL had a small collection and I found them whimsical. I especially liked the cabbage or lettuce leaf plates.

I used to have a few of their green bunny plates and still have a teapot. I haven't used the teapot except for decorative purposes and it's held up up great and is in perfection condition. However I did use the plates and several or more of them became really chipped up so I got rid of them. I believe I purchased mine at a Tuesday Morning or Marshalls.

Re: Does anyone here collect Bordallo Pinheiro?

Even though I have worked in second hand stores for almost 20 years, I hadn't heard of this line until recently. I purchased a couple of pieces at a thrift store for cheap. They are the pattern that has green holly and berries on them. I noticed that the new holiday pattern in Temp-tations this year was a knock off of them.

They are very pretty, and I love them, but the prices at Replacement and on ebay keep me from adding to the collection as of now. I think I will try to pick up pieces at flea markets and thrift stores, it will just be slow and challenging.

Re: Does anyone here collect Bordallo Pinheiro?

I have a service for 12 of the cabbage plates, salad & dessert plates. Most came from Tuesday Morning, Marshalls, and TJMax. I collect accessory serving ware by Fitz & Floyd for serving bowls, pitchers, platters, etc. They work really well with the cabbage plates.

We are beginning to go through things in order to downsize. I have several sets of good china (mine, mom's and MIL) and I rarely use them. The cabbage dishes set a much more fun table that I can customise for just about every holiday. The good stuff can go to my DIL's, I'm keeping the fun stuff!

I wish I hadn't looked at the bunny items. They are so cute! I'd never seen them before.
