Similar to the baking soda and salt method: buy Arm and Hammer Washing Soda. You can find it at some grocery stores or small hardware stores. Use glass baking dish and put aluminum foil in the bottom. Add about1/4 cup and add very hot water. Swish around and add silver. Rinse off and dry well.

I only use Hagerty silver polish products on my silver. Silversuperstore has a great page with all their polishes: Wipes, washes, cream, etc. etc. Almost all good jewelry stores and other stores that sell fine silver use this. For quick and EASY they have a spray.
You will see it in lots of stores around town, as well as many sites on the web. My favorite method is those pop-up sponges you get and their silver polish. Just rub it on, rinse it off and your silver is beautiful, unharmed and the tarnish that is supposed to remain in the pattern for definition is still there.
DON'T use the aluminum foil method if you want the tarnish in the pattern of flatware to remain to define the pattern. It sometimes will take that out too.
