Re: Does This Light Work in This Room?

Yes, in a faded grandeur manner.

This kitchen reminded me of the kitchen at The Breakers.

Very just for the kitchen staff kind of setup.

Yes, I would do this and love it....but then I'm somewhat of a contrarian.

What works in that kitchen is the person who has to clean the grime and dust off the chandelier. and the stuff on that open shelving.

No.  Too ornate and frou-frou.

No for me. I've seen this style used so often in various colors and I just don't like it. Even if I did to begin with, which I didn't, I'd be fully fed up with it by now.

No. It's too small. Not proportionate.

It’s too small and doesn’t fit the motif. This kitchen calls for something a bit more sleek or rustic and larger with track lighting

No.I think it is too fancy for the style of the room. I would prefer something more rustic.

kitchens are where you need serious lighting for work. Task lighting for working at the counters and over the sink and a nice generous light over the seating area that can be dimmed if you are having a quiet dinner at night.

It doesn’t look like this like accomplishes any of that, that it was bought for its decorative looks and not really for practicality.

I bet this kitchen would be a pain to work in at night preparing dinner. I used to have a kitchen in a very old house and that was one of my big complaints so when we redid it was updated with plenty of serious lighting.

Re: Does This Light Work in This Room?

I like the room.  It makes me think it's in Paris or New York.  It's a beautiful apartment on some cobblestone street in Paris just near the Eiffel tower.  It is owned by some former model or dress designer who is middle or just older age.  It's very interesting.
