Does Anyone Own A Japanese Buckwheat pillow?

I purchased a buckwheat bed pillow and really like it.  I've had for about 5 months and it seems much flatter.  Is this normal so soon?  I know I can buy more buckwheat.

If I need to add more buckwheat do I add a cup or so?  Do I remove a cup or so out of the pillow first and add fresh?  Or, do I dump out all the existing buckwheat and start fresh?

It wasn't a cheap pillow, so I want it right.

TIA

@Sunshine Kate    When they were really popular 10-15 years ago, I had a series of them and loved using them.  I ruined mine by compulsively popping the wheat hulls just as I'm prone to do bubble wrap.

I then discovered Tony Little's pillows on HSN which are similar in feel but contain micro beads which can't be popped.  I've been using them for about 10 years and my original purchase is still going strong.  They're expensive, he usually has a TS once or twice a year, but they're more generous than the knockoffs and last a long time.

I've tried various foam pillows but just can't adjust to them after the micro bead pillows.

my favorite pillows are the SLEEPGRAM pillows and the JOY MANGANO pillows (they are not available anymore, but i am hoping she brings them back now that she is back on HSN.)

i do have a few of the TONY LITTLE pillows also that are "okay", but they dont fill out pillow cases well and become very "loose and lumpy" after awhile.

I bought one of the Tony Little pillows years ago and sent it back the next day. It was so uncomfortable I threw it across the room in the middle of the night and went back to my regular pillow. I currently use Casper pillows.

@Sunshine Kate .............If I were you I would do some research before you buy buckwheat to add or replace whats in your pillow.  I would think that the buckwheat would have to be treated or it would get mold and/or bugs.  However, Im not sure about that.

Thanks for  mentioning the Tony Little pillows I agree the pillowcase is so much  larger then the queen size pillow ,thought it was  just mine. I had  a first time  order many years ago (HSN) and  everything was great. The beads are nothing like years ago, feels like the beads have become like saw dust. No  more Tony Little pillows  for me.

@Sunshine Kate My DH has one and has had it forever.  We cannot add to ours though, maybe because it is an older version.   I have looked online in the past because I was thinking of replacing his but he won't let me (LOL).  Anyway the company I found is Bean Products dot com.   The products are made in the USA and the buckwheat hulls are organically grown here.  HTH.

When they first came out, MANY years ago (like 40+), they were sold via tv a tv infomercial.  There were complaints about them being infested with bugs. That was enough for me to never be interested.

Wish I would have known about Tony Little's pillows before I purchased the buckwheat.  Glad to hear about it, may just toss this buckwheat.
