White is supposed to take the place of stainless steel clad appliances in the next few years. Black is being reintroduced, too. Designers say the Stainless Steel restaurant look has run its course.
I have white GE appliances with natural Maple cabinets and light quartz countertops and love the way they look in my modern traditional home. Very light and easy to clean. I don't think they look dated or contractor-grade as some do.
In another home I have Subzero and Wolf stainless steel appliances with natural Maple cabinets and black granite countertops. It has a more contemporary, stark industrial look. It is perfect for the contemporary style of house it is in. It is just a pain to keep streak-free.
Both are fine with me.

Me too!!! All my small appliances are red, so it might be too much with red fridg, but I would still love to have 1.
I have stainless stove & sink, white fridg...my fridg has been maiking weird noises lately. IF I have to get a new 1, I was considering SS, but after reading all these comments, I may stick with white. The only thing with white, I use magnets on side for notes & callender. I have noticed rust spots lately there, so Idk what I will choose for sure.

We remodeled our kitchen in sort of an old world style with hickory cabinets, dark hardware, granite counters and all white appliances. It looks beautiful. My son remodeled his kitchen also and he chose stainless steel. It looks nice but way too much upkeep for me. To me it just looks cold but then I am not modern in my home taste, I am more of a French country style. At Christmas time during black Friday sales, it was all stainless that you got the deals on. If you wanted white you had to pay extra.

me too but can't even order ""almond/bisque"" anymore! I wanted this when I purchased all new appliances 2 years ago. (I'm sure they'll be back like everything else which is ""old is new again"")

I have to disagree with the poster that said white is too hard to keep clean. In my opinion, white is so much easier to keep clean that SS. I do like SS but after having it, I opt for white or black. Life is too short to spend so much time polishing my darn appliances!!! I too wish that Almond was back, loved that as well.

Top choice for me SS, I really don't like appliances at all. My refer and dishwasher have cabinetry panels on them so they blend in and my microwave is inside a cabinet. I do have a SS oven and I like the looks of it, I wipe it down every day with a damp cloth and it is fine.

My appliances are white. The S/S looks cold and industrial to me.

In my kitchen, yes.
