Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

Fro those of you who are having a hard time with fingerprints on SS...I used to as well. Until I found out that if you rub them down with baby oil or plain mineral oil from time to time, they will look much shinier and new. They won't be greasy looking at all. Changed my life. {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Yes, love the white, it just looks the best in my farmhouse kitchen.

Yes, I do. And I think it's a boatload that you need to 'upgrade' to stainless to sell a home... After all, I bought mine with white and when they need replacement, it'll be with white. I have no desire for an industrial or' restaurant style' kitchen. In fact, I bought a new dishwasher last year and if I was planning to change out to something else that would've been the time to start. I got white.

Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

I have never had stainless, and would never choose it. I much prefer black appliances since our cabinetry and bookcases are light in color.

I also do not like the look of those granite counter tops. They always look dirty to me, even when new. I much prefer something lighter that I can be sure are clean when I close up for the day.

Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

I don't care for white at all. I know a lot of people like it but I just don't. I feel that it is outdated and stainless is so sleek and modern.

I would not buy a house with white appliances either, they get so dirty. I recently helped a family member list a relative's house with a realtor and the realtor said, it is in great condition and the price is right but you may have a hard time selling with white appliances, most buyers really want stainless steel appliances.

There is virtually no maintenance now with stainless appliances. Almost all of the newer stainless appliances have brushed stainless finishes, so they are smudge free. They aren't hard to clean like the first generation of stainless appliances.

Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

Our house was built during the time harvest gold was very popular. When that color faded into the past, I updated my kitchen with almond. I updated my bathrooms with white, and decided white was definitely the way to go. I have replaced my stove and refrigerator within the last 5 years, and went with white. I am not a fan of stainless steel or black appliances in my small galley kitchen.

Black or white. I have white now but think black looks better with darker cabinets. I'm so over SS.

I've been to Lowe's and HD looking at refrigerators. They each had one white; the rest were SS, but they can order white.

Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

We converted to SS -- what a chore keeping appliances smudge free. Fortunately, new appliances are SS with lots of black accents. Our remaining piece to replace is fridge. We found a black fridge w/SS accents. It will work fine with other SS & black appliances. Never again on the SS. Before SS I had white appliances, which was fine.

The nice thing about our choices -- if it works for us -- it works!

Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

I prefer the fresh, clean look of white. Many of us lived through the "had to have" avocado green or harvest gold and the day came when no one wanted those outdated colors again. I'm sure stainless steel will have it's day, too (as well as granite).
