I have a SS dishwasher and stove. The stove has a black glass cooktop. My 23-year-old Kenmore refrigerator is almond with a black glass front. You notice the black glass and not the almond because of the way the fridge fits into the cabinets/wall. I think my appliances complement each other very well. I'm not willing to give up my fridge in order to match. But when the time comes to replace it, I will choose SS.
My Kenmore washer and dryer are both white and located in an adjacent laundry room that is painted white with white cabinets. These appliances are 25+ years old and in perfect condition. Again, no way I'm giving those up!
My Sweetie recently bought all-new SS appliances for his kitchen to replace the old white appliances. It instantly made his kitchen look more modern. There's something about giant white refrigerators that I just don't like, though the rest of the appliances didn't bother me as much.

I do prefer white to SS, too much dust around here for black also.

I've had white, stainless steel and now (in our new house) black, and I LOVE the black! My accent color is a little bit of red and my counters are a tan/taupe/cream granite and it's striking.... really love it!

No. I prefer SS or black.

Yes I do. And I'm also happy to see top loading washers are back too. I don't remember what is in the new apartment, it's probably a front loader and I will just have to deal with it. I dislike them immensely.

We did a kitchen gut a few years ago and I insisted on white appliances. We needed to get a counter depth refrigerator and had one heck of a time finding that in white. The dealer we were working with finally said, "look I'll give you the stainless for the same price as the white as I can't get it in white." I told him this had nothing to do with the price difference but was all about personal preference. He was shocked someone still wanted white appliances over stainless. I finally found it and have to say, I love my kitchen, white appliances and all!

I presently own all white appliances, but when they need to be replaced I'm doing SS.

I think it depends on the style, color theme and decor of your home. My friend has a modern home that is all black and white. She went with white appliances because she thought staineless steel would be to institutional looking. I think she made the right choice. My husband wanted stainless steel for our kitchen but I nixed that idea. Stainless was too "cold" for the warm wood kitchen cabinets and our tile counter. Now he agrees that the ivory appliances are a better fit. I like the idea of stainless appliances but in reality, I think finger prints and smudges probably show up and there's a "coldness" to a kitchen full of stainless appliances. And I could say the same thing about white. Too "stark" for me. But....sooooo veryyyyyy much better than that awful avocado I had in my first kitchen back in the day....lol I look at pictures of our little starter house and I wonder what made me think that avocado appliances and dark wood paneling in the kitchen was a good idea...lol

We bought a house a year ago and the appliances are white and there is nothing wrong with them. In the house we moved from we had stainless. A nice change to have the white.

I remodeled my kitchen in 2000, chose white appliances, still love them and the look .
