Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

I've always liked almond/bisque appliances. We're currently shopping for a new counter top and trying to decide what to do with the back splash (so many options). When we replace the appliances they will be white. While bisque is still out there, it's not as available across the board as it once was. My sister is working on her kitchen now too. She told me the other day that the guy at Lowe's told her that SS is still being offered, but it's on its way out too and that choices will eventually be black or white. I don't know where he got his information since there's a lot of SS everywhere you go.

Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

I have a kitchen with white cabinets and white appliances. We just put our house up for sale and realtor told us that white isn't what people want anymore. Sure enough, the second couple to walk through mentioned that she really didn't want white cabinets. Oh well. In my cottage I have all stainless appliances. I surely don't think it looks industrial at all! I made a point to make my cottage look like a cottage. Stainless is easy to take care of! I don't get why most of you won't wipe your appliances....ever???? Geez I am a clean freak so SS, white, black, whatever the color appliance I am always wiping to keep CLEAN.

Me! Me! Me! Like you I just like the way it looks. Clean, warm and no finger prints!

Last week one evening, with only a small night light's soft glow on, I was standing in my cottage-style white kitchen, thinking how soft and comforting it looked. Took me back to childhood. It looked warm and welcoming. Old fashioned, yes. I'm an old fashioned girl, and romantic. Something about it.

White wouldn't be my first choice, but I sure would pick it over stainless. When I moved into my new home in 2007, I chose black and I really love it. I know many think of stainless as an upgrade, but I don't. In fact, it's quite a turn off for me. To me, it's just cold and industrial looking.

Re: Do you still prefer white appliances?

I have all white appliances and they're fine. They always look fresh and clean and bright but, my all time favorites were the coppertone appliances I had way back in the 70's and 80's. Gosh, they looked so nice in my kitchen.

I prefer the look of white appliances over stainless steel. If I couldn't have white, I would choose black appliances.

I LOVE white appliances. We built our home 9 years ago and installed white beaded board cupboards and white appliances. To this day, if I could do it all over again, I would still choose white cupboards and appliances.

Top choice for me SS, I really don't like appliances at all. My refer and dishwasher have cabinetry panels on them so they blend in and my microwave is inside a cabinet. I do have a SS oven and I like the looks of it, I wipe it down every day with a damp cloth and it is fine.

I love this look too. Cabinetry panels for the refrigerator and microwave. But I have all white appliances and I like them well enough.....

I much prefer white as well. I sold a home about 7 years ago with white appliances without any problems and wouldn't have gotten any higher price with SS ones.

White is my preference as well. Stainless steel reminds me of a restaurant, and if I had a SS kitchen then I would want the waite to come along with it.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}
