LIQUID-Tide for washer
Pods for diswasher.....
‎08-07-2016 04:21 PM
I use Kirkland pods for laundry and BJ's pods for the dishwasher. I am thinking of trying the Persil pods from Walmart. I just like the convenience of pods, especially since my front loader washer is on a pedestal and is a little high up to easily pour detergent. It is difficult enough to get the fabric softener and bleach into it.

I prefer to measure out liquid detergent as I do different sizes of wash loads. I add more soap for dirty things, less soap for towels and sheets. They aren't very dirty and I don't want soap residue.
I'm using Costco Kirkland Environmentally Friendly in the huge jug. Lasts a long time.

I got a new Bosch dishwasher (which I LOVE) and was told only use POWDER dishwashing detergent, not liquid, not pods. That's what I use and I also use Finish as Bosches do not have dryer units. My dishes come out sparkling.
I use liquid All for my washing machine (concentrated)

Be very careful with these premeasured items if you have a water softener in your home. I used a pod in my dishwasher one time and the soap was excessive. Laundry would probably be the same. I also like Nellies.

I still use liquid. If I have astain that needs soaking, I can add some liquid detergent.
Sometimes I only have a small load and wouldn't need to use a whole 'pod' either...

Tide Free & Clear liquid. I like to control the amount I use. Small loads, delicates require less. Stanky, dirty jeans & gym clothes, more.
I got a sample of the Tide Pods, couldn't get past the smell.

I haven't tried the pods because I rarely run a full load. I use liquid and always a bit less than suggested. My clothes don't get dirty.

I love the All Free and Clear Pods. They work beautifully and don't have any dyes or scent.

I prefer liquids. You know, that waxy pod has to go somewhere, and it could be gunking up your machine/pump as it "melts", or maybe there is a residue left in your clothing. If nothing else it is down your drain and possibly a clog starter. So no to pods.
Off topic, my favorite new detergent is Persil. Love the scent. I am addicted I think to the scent now.
