I'm going to do that. I think if something happened to me, it would help whoever comes after me too.

My father did that-everything financial in green.
He was very organized.
I just clearly label the ones I have. Not that I wouldn't like to have them color-coded but I guess they are organized enough and not that many. I also don't have a file cabinet but folders.

I'm lucky to get the "stuff" into folders. Wish I was so organized that I could go further and color code! Maybe one day..............

If I was any more organized I would have to be locked up and the key thrown away, our daughter came over several months ago looked in our food cupbord and just shook her head, I am meticulous on how the canned goods shall be placed in the cupboards, and nobody better screw it up (LOL).
If something were to happen to me tomorrow, a complete stranger could walk in and know exactly what to do and what my wishes are.
I never used to be that way, but it seems the older I get the more ****** I become on everything having to be just so, it drives me nuts sometimes, LOL!

files?.......what files?

Many of my important "papers" are kept on a hard drive. But some papers I keep hard copies of in a filing cabinet with color-coded Pendaflex hanging folders and colored, labeled tabs. Makes it easy to find stuff.

Must have notebooks....

No. I have always been extremely organized; save everything, and know exactly where to find it. These days I only save what is absolutely necessary, and have fewer files to keep up with.

Yes....

I just bought a new pretty wood file cabinet and decided that I would color code my files from now on.
I use red for medical things (the color of blood!) green for financial things in my financial drawer, and green in my 'general' drawer for outdoor things (we have a lot of things for plants, tractors, tillers cars etc. and I thought green was the color of grass and trees so it made sense). Insurance things are done in yellow folders etc. Plus all folders are tabbed.
Trying to make it easier for me, and for anyone who comes it to clean up should we be gone.
