Back when I was first married in the early 70s (no longer married, just fyi), we had our honeymoon in a tropical location.

On coming home, I realized we were still lacking in furniture and style in our new home.  Considering how much we enjoyed the honeymoon surroundings, we decided to make one room sort of tropical.  We ended up having wicker and palms for several years.  It was fun while it lasted.

Then we went more traditional/contemporary for other rooms and in later years.

Did you ever find that a vacation's location influenced your decorating?

(Come to think of it, I still love wicker/rattan/grasses.  These days they look so much more sophisticated than they did back then.)

No and if our honeymoon influenced my decor we'd had to move

and buy more furniture!😉🙂

I do love the Carribean and in my home I have the guest bedroom in beach theme.

PS: what influences me is when I come home from my friends wide open & minmal decor (condo on the beach).  I want to "steal" all her great ideas!

No money after a vacation!

My all-time greatest vacation was three weeks traveling around Italy with my SIL.

No way I could do anything that would come near the memories (and photos) from that trip.

Never changed any decor.  Put out some things as remembering items.  Mostly did laundry 😂

Yes, after  staying at a hotel with a glorious bathroom we decided to remodel our's.  Best idea ever!
