I don't do this myself but I have a friend who does. Her things are so cute and clever. She actually has a shop with a friend of hers to sell their work and contingent items from others.

They are open on thursday, friday and saturday and both still work other jobs. I don't know how they do it.

That sounds like a lot of fun!!!

Sounds like she and her friend are quite crafty....cool!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Not yet, but I am OBSESSED with all the furniture ideas that can be made with wooden pallets. My issue is that (a) I have no way to get the pallets home and (b) I have no construction skills! I can dream though!

Me too! I had DH bring some home and I could not take them apart. lol

I love looking at the upcycled clothes on Pinterest but have never tried to make anything. My projects tend to never get done and sit around for long lengths of time.

Mine too...BUT...I have managed to use some everyday items to improve how I organize, and that is pretty cool.

Right now I am saving glass jars to use when I order the ingredients I need to make my own foundation. I'm trying to go organic without spending a ton of money, and I found out that you can make your own products using organic, food-grade ingredients!! I will need to tinker with the recipes I've found, since they are all powder, and my skin is dry...but I'm confident I can formulate a liquid foundation using a half-dozen organic ingredients. Cool

This is one of the first things I saw on Pinterest when I joined:

suitcase chair

I know, it's way out there! How do folks think up things like this?

That's pretty impressive!!

That is impressive! I have an old steamer trunk of my parents that I keep my doll collection in. It would make an awesome loveseat if done like that, but I wouldn't know the first way to go about it, and it would cost me a fortune to have it done. Cool idea for those that are creative and skilled. My dad used to do woodworking, he could have helped me before he got sick, but I would still be lost on the upholstery part.

Honestly, if I wanted to go about such a project, I would first experiment on materials that didn't have sentimental value. Practice makes perfect...and I wouldn't want to "practice" on items that are priceless to me. I think my parents' combined knowledge might get me the desired result...but...I'd rather practice on an abandoned piece of luggage, you know? {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Yes I do! Most of my house is furnished with secondhand finds, things we've refinished, repainted. I love T2T (trash to treasure) projects. I like items that are kinda quirky and eclectic. I'm not into cookie cutter designs, trendy furnishings.

I love the shutter bookcase idea (I have a pair of old shutters right now!) and the TV dog house is so cool! My animals would love that!

Also from Pinterest. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

I don't have any of my own projects to share photos of at the moment, but hope you enjoy the Pinterest pics.

from tv to dog bed

I love this idea!! My grandma used to have one of those old televisions too. I don't have a dog, but I'd consider making something like this if I did.

The pictures on his wall is what cracks me up! Cute ideas{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}
