I love the bookcase made of shutters. That is a great idea!

I do have difficulty throwing things out when I see another potential use for them. Not so much the plastic bottles, etc., but lamp parts off a broken lamp, or spindles off an old broken headboard, old wooden picture frames, etc. I don't usually get very far with "creating" things from my ideas, though.

I like seeing how other people do it. I'm just not creative enough to think of things like that.

I took a one rod quilt rack and unscrewed the rod to put a curtain panel on it. It's now a privacy curtain for the kitties and no one has to look at litter in a corner of the bathroom.

I am another person who is not into the turning old bottles or cans into crafts thing. But i do love to take a piece of used and abused furniture and restore it to something beautiful. I am also not into leaving old finishes on antiques so they look ""shabby chic"" I love to strip off the weathered finish and restore it to look like it did when it was new.I have some very beautiful antiques in my home as a result of years of having a passion for doing this.

mistri, thanks for sharing these ideas. The jewelry stand made out of the bottom of bottles is quite unique and cute.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting these pics. Certainly gives ideas for those that enjoy repurposing.

I'm all about repurposing & recycling MTS!! Have been for years. Mostly furniture & decorative items.

Give me garish piece and some chalk paint and I will find a nook or cranny for it!!

It's wonderful we all have our own design style--I love the shabby and distressed look . . .

I love to do this. It comes second nature to me. I'm always thinking of new ways to use things. When I was younger, I used sheets for drapes. I love repainting furniture. I see things in the forms of household items and turn them into home decor. I just do it if I get an idea. I've made vanity trays out of framed mirrors and a work area using a door and file cabinets. I use liter soda bottles as mini greenhouses for seedlings. I also use styrofoam egg crates to start seedlings.

I used to be crafty. Now I can't remember what it is that I used to make.....
