Going through my sheet sets I have some fitted sheets that either don't fit my bed properly or the elastic has lost its stretch.  I hate to discard perfectly nice top sheets and pillow cases.  Do you ever mix sets?  Of course they would need to sort of coordinate.

All my sheets are the same color and all but one set are the same fabric/brand.  So - pillow cases are usually the only thing I mix up.  I use four pillows and only two come with a set.

I do. I find the fitted sheet wears out faster so I've had to throw a few out and kept the top sheet or if one gets a stain and I need to replace one while I wash the other. I also have found a sheet or fitted sheet that I liked but the matching one is sold out so I use it with something else.

No way !  everything must be coordinated.  Sheets, pillow cases, comforter, curtains and even the rugs.

Yep, all the time.

I try to keep color schemes in mind and I usually don't buy complete sets but separate pieces from the same style.

I wanted the red bed look at Christmas and bought a complete set of tartan plaid. Fitted shhet wore out in no time so now I use a white flannel sheet, tartan plaid top sheet and matching tartan plaid pillow cases.

I don't use the top sheet.

I have my Queen fitted sheets and

Pillow cases dry cleaned.  I don't like wrinkles.

She just irons the wrinkles.

@Annabellethecat66 I couldn't possibly sleep without a top sheet.  Mostly only with the top sheet.  Something for everyone I guess!  Woman Very Happy

The nice thing about an "extra" top sheet is that it can be used as either a Top ... or Bottom ... sheet.  Before bottom sheets were developed they must have used flat sheets for both  top and bottom ... I think.

Yes, I do.  I went through a phase where the bed had to be made perfectly, but then we got a dog that can jump.  I would still enjoy a pretty bed, but the rescued boy takes priority right now.

I use old tattered sheets as drop cloths and tarps.
