very, very contemporary.   I am not sure how I feel about it.  It seems like a lot of hood for the room.

My microwave has a fan and filter in it.  Not as functional as a stand alone hood but good enough for me.

This particular one makes the actual range and bottom cabinetry look lower than normal, or is it actually lower?

I guess I don't understand what is the purpose of them?

Is it for design or something practical?

It also seems to be just more cleaning of trying to get grease etc off that accumulates on everything around a stove.

What is the point?

They don't seem attractive at all just huge big hoods taking over the kitchen.

Though this one is probably the least of the offensive ones i've seen because it just looks like part of a wall, not a hood, and that's a good thing.

It looks good in this kitchen. The more spacious the kitchen the larger the hood can be.

Most of that is just a facade right?  Would't want to clean inside there.
