I just purchased the TSV Fitnation exercise bike. They also offered at the time a mat to place under it. I didn't order that because I didn't think it was needed since we have carpet. Am I mistaken? Should I still order it? Thanks.

I think you’re fine on carpet. When these types of exercise devices are placed on solid, flat surfaces, they tend to shift a little during use which could scuff the floor. With carpeting, I think you’ll be okay.

I have a treadmill that is on carpeting and I did purchase a mat to put under it. My treadmill is very heavy and I was afraid it might damge the carpet. The mat is made of very thick rubber that protects the carpet and also helps to deaden the sound when I use the treadmill.
If it were me, I would go ahead and order the mat.

I have been bike riding since 1985 and am now on my fifth exercise bike and never put anything down for carpet. Other than old towels next to it to catch the coffee dribbles from setting my first cup of the day on the t.v. tray next to me with a stack of library books. About the time I finish the cup of coffee I am warmed up to hit faster speeds high instensity speeds. Have fun but keep stuff handy like Kleenex's to frozen grapes so you can bike longer!![]()

I would put a mat under it for the same reason I put leg protectors on my furniture to keep the legs from wearing a spot on the carpet. Not sure you need anything fancy or expensive.
If you put the bike in a different spot every time, you shouldn't have a problem

I have some heavy pieces in my workout room and when I bought them, I was told I needed mats for them. It's not so much to protect your carpet, but to protect the actual machine. They told me carpet fibers and dust can get sucked up into the machine and damage the equipment.

I always get a mat for my equipment.
You can get them locally at Walmart, Target in the exercise equipment department.
