Do Any New Top Load Washing Machines Have A Delicate Cycle?

[ Edited ]

I'm in the market for a new top load washing machine.  Most of the ones I have looked at have a delicate cycle for a top loader which is what I want.

The problem is it swishes clothing fast and hard at first with little water and gradually fills the wash tub with water.

My delicate clothing looks awful because it's agitated so hard on the fabric.  It's called a delicate cycle, but is NOT.

I want a true soft, delicate cycle for my good clothing.  (Not talking about bath towels or rugs.)

If you have any suggestions please be specific in which brand and model.  (Probably has to have been manufactured within the last three years, many years ago I didn't have a problem owning a true delicate cycle washer).

Thanks!

@Sunshine Kate

My Speed Queen TR7 has a Delicate cycle and a Handwash cycle, which is even gentler.  It's 2 1/2 years old and definitely hasn't hurt any of my delicate clothes. It's a top loader, and let's you choose your water level rather than choosing it for you.

When it comes to washers, manufacturers don't give consumers what they want. I personally want a warm water rinse. I guess it's the government that says rinse cycles must be cold.

I would be happy if they would drop the tight rules and let us have washers that actually filled up with water to wash the clothes instead of using 6 tablespoons of water and telling us that is better. No, it's not.

My Lg top loader has a delicate cycle that works great. Not having the large center agitator keeps the clothes from being damaged.

It also has a deep wash setting that uses more water like the old washing machines.

I find that using a mesh "garment" bag....not sure what the proper name for it is...keeps  my delicate items safe.

My top loader Kenmore is going on 9 years old and it has a casual and a delicate cycle.  I have used the delicate cycle quite a bit and so far it has not ruined any clothes.

I would avoid a machine with the agitator pole in the middle. A lot of machines have a flat agitator on the bottom.

My Maytag Commercial/Residential washer is a top loader and has a delicate cycle. I use it for all of my undies, as well as embroidered tops and fine knits. Ironically, all but the Normal cycle use almost a full tub of water.
