I don't mind the floor, I'm not liking the staircase - maybe if that was in solid black it would look better.

I love this. When I was in college I used to housesit for wealthy mansion people while they were away on vacation. One of the mansions had a marble checkerboard floor at the entrance foyer, along with marble pillars and a huge elegant staircase. Took my breath away.

It's not my style, but it's very elegant---not bad, but I agree with @Kachina624  I don't like the rug pattern, I think it clashes with the rest of the room........

I like the hall and the flooring, although I think the circular design under the stairs is overkill.I don't care for the risers however. So for me, neither divine nor dizzying.
