Re: Dishwasher recommendations

I will never purchase another LG, I am certain of that ! Ours was a lemon that quit on day 31 -or less than 10 uses.

LG accused us of not pushing the correct buttons, of having this hooked up with an extention cord - yes , that is what they said {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}, to having our house wired wrong, to yelling at us for not purchasing the store's extended warranty !{#emotions_dlg.ohmy} The darn thing was 31 days old! In all my years, I have never been treated more rudely, been lied to as much, and given the run around by any company, service provider, business , etc .

It took us from August til the last of November to get them to replace it. It went to the point that their own service rep. refused to come back to our home -as there was nothing left to try . Still LG refused to replace the appliance. Their service person offered to accompany us to an attorney to take legal action and speak on our behalf!

Because of the cost of hiring an attorney , we decided to go back to the bank and they filed a dispute -due to inferior merchandise. This was how we finally got any resolution from LG.

NEVER AGAIN!{#emotions_dlg.angry}

Re: Dishwasher recommendations

I am NOT pleased with my new Kitchenaid . The only things I like are the looks and it is quiet. It doesn't get the dishes clean and feels flimsy. The drawers are not stable and slide off the track. My daughter has Bosch and loves it. I wish I had it to do over again…I'd get Bosch too.

Re: Dishwasher recommendations

A word of caution with Bosch, when they work they are very quiet and work great.

We know 2 people who both bought Bosch DW in the last 12-18 months (2 different models) and both have had nothing but problems. The good news is Bosch is very good about sending out authorized repair-people the bad news is both had to wait weeks to get the person there for the repairs. Apparently the region these repair people cover is HUGE so you have to wait until they are in your area and you either agree to that day or wait until they cycle through again.

It seems that everything is on the "luck of the draw" maintenance risk plan.

We have a Whirlpool gold series, is was whisper quite until the house settled, now it is louder. It is 7 years old (light use, only 2 of use) and if it makes it through the year it will be a miracle. We were told at 8 years plan to replace it.......we are right on schedule.

Our neighbors bought a KitchenAid it made 7 years! (they have 3 kids). My BFF has a 12 year old KitchenAid DW and it works GREAT and is still quiet!

i have a 2 drawer fisher-paykel and it is going on its 8th year. it is quiet, very low profile, and i like that i can do one drawer OR both drawers at the same time.

i would say whatever brand you go with dont expect it to last 18 years again. it seems like nothing will last that long anymore.

HAD A FISHER PAYKEL THAT LASTED 7 YRS. BEFORE IT STARTED DOING A TERRIBLE JOB. We went with a top of the line Kitchen Aid. Fabulous!

Re: Dishwasher recommendations

We just replace a Frigidaire. We hated that dishwasher. It was working well for about 2 yrs then...not so much! Additionally, the coating on the racks started to corrode after about 1 yr. We called CS and they said that it was 'just' out of warranty but we could 'certainly purchase a new rack..." The cost of a new rack was about 200.00!!!! REALLY????? So, we lived with the corroding racks for another 3 yrs. Worse CS and worse dishwasher ever!!!!!!!

We now have a Miele. We LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!

Cleans like a dream. We hardly pre rinse. The Frigidaire we had, we had to pre rinse everything! This Miele was put to the test...I am a skeptic! We had grits that were made in the a.m. and the dishes were washed in the p.m.. The grits were stuck on solid. NO problem for this dishwasher!!!! They came out clean. We also did they stuck on cheese test! No prob!!!!!!!

Quiet as can be also!

I am totally happy with my Miele!!!!!!

Good luck with your decision!

Re: Dishwasher recommendations

We seem to be hard on dishwashers. Our latest is a Bosch and I like that it is quiet and cleans well. However, it is not as easy to organize the dishes as well -- something I did not pay attention to when we were looking. The "tines" for plates are very close together, so it is harder to fit my dinner plates. Overall I like it, though. So many DW had the "hidden" buttons and we wanted ones that we could see, so that also limited us. Good luck! I love getting new appliances! lol

Re: Dishwasher recommendations

Hi! We had a Fisher-Paykel that was on year eight before we remodeled our kitchen. I loved the flexibility it offered with the two drawers. Or appliance store stopped carrying the line so we went with a Bosch for our new kitchen. I am very satisfied. I especially like the tray on top for silverware.

Miele is a GREAT suggestion! This is one brand I have NEVER had a problem with, I will remember this since our DW is on it's last leg.
