I'm a fan of the look of benches with some sets, but usually in a more casual setting, like a kitchen. 

 

In my opinion, with a lot of small kids, it would be a way to go, cleaner lines, not a bunch of chairs askew all the time, and something I'd consider in that circumstance. 

 

In a more formal setting, I don't care for it. For an older crowd, it's a no. For a truly comfortable dining experience, a good solid chair can't be beat, in my opinion.

They're cute, but uncomfortable.  I know kids like them, but I don't think they are for adults and especially not for older people.
