Re: Dining..... Something A Little Different

This room has a very nice palette.  The art on the wall isn't pretty in it's self but is the exact color.  I would put botanical prints.

Rooms that are very color rich wear their welcome out quickly.

Definitely my colors.  I like everything except the shades.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I like it, except for the light shades.I am a blue decor person.

It wouldn't work iin my house though.  Somehow, I always manage to spill something. That beautiful upholstery and pillows would be ruined.

Very warm and cozy.  I am a red person but the red hanging lights, besides being hung to high are jarring to me. They look heavy and don't fit the rest of the decor IMHO.  Love the chair color

@jubilant

I do love the 2 art pieces.  This room is way to dark for me.  It looks mostly like a dark teal?  I think that color would go well "as a pop of color" in a more neutral or lighter room.  As is, NOPE.

Thanks for sharing.

I have that handsome chair (which I use at my desk) in aged tobacco leather.  It's comfortable but supportive, and the little, brasstack-surrounded opening on the upper chairback allows you to pull the chair without having to lift it.  It's from OKA, a British company, and it comes in a variety of colors in leather, linen, and velvet.

It's pretty. but looks too crowed, too tight.

What a moody, intimate, well-conceived little dining spot, @jubilant --   I love it!

Warring publications, anyone?

My local paper yesterday posted an article about "dated" design trends, always one of my favorite subjects.
One of the things complimented/decried was dark walls.

My personal chuckle always comes following the treasured

HIDEOUS! I can almost hear the snarled hiss emphasizing the final /s/.

Some things in life are indeed "hideous". Anything in this rather innocuous photo? Even a striped lampshade?

@vsm  Thanks for the info on the chair. I always appreciate knowing more about what's in the pictures.
