Re: Didn't think there could be less tissue paper on the roll but every time I buy it, the roll gets smaller.

I've gone to buying Charmin Mega roll. I just looked at the package I bought and it's 330 sheets per roll. $6.99 for 4 rolls, not on sale. To compare look at total sq ft, not just sheets.

I don't have to change the roll as often which is a plus.

I have noticed for some time that the number of sheets hasn't changed from the older rolls we've used, BUT they are not as wide as the older rolls. Wonder how much the manufacturers are saving by scrimping on width these days! Must be worth their while to do so. Probably hope we won't notice it. Ticks me off!! {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

The thing that was most noticeable to me was the width and how it fit on the holder. I always get the double roll in the same brand.

Lol!! I have just noticed this also. I thought my holder was sprung out, I was about to buy a new 1. Then I decided it IS the paper. Now I read this...too funny!!

When I was growing up we didn't buy toilet paper in BALES and it lasted quite a while. Now it seems like I change the paper 3 x as often. What a rip off it is, and something we have to have, and NO way to compare prices on what you are getting. It is not-so-petty crime if you ask me.

It's no different than any other product container shrinking...

I remember when it all started...when a 1 lb can of coffee wasn't a pound anymore...back in the 70's I think...

Things are still shrinking everyday...ever notice the cookie pkgs...like oreos, fig newtons...or cracker pkgs.

The manufacturers think they are fooling us as customers...HA! For example, when oreos are on sale for say...2/$5...those oreos or ritz crackers you got 10 years ago for the same sale price is not the same now. You are getting less cookies/crackers for that same $5...even the coupon either remains the same amount or a tad less.

I only buy Scotts. Their size has never changed.

Thank you, I thought it was just me.

If coffee keeps going up, I swear, I'll just have to quit that too.

The roll gets smaller--and the core gets larger. Last time I picked up a roll, it was big enough to drive a Mack Truck through the core. "They must think we are stupid", I remarked gloomily.

And the rolls are narrower, in some cases.

True about Scotts....however, I don 't prefer it. And it's in my downstairs bathroom now, I did buy Scotts because it wasn't being goofed with--YET.

I don't understand what the "trick" is yet with the new, no roll, toilet paper. I think there are a lot worse things filling up the landfills than those little flimsy cardboard toilet paper rolls. My suspicion is that it's a way to reduce the size, yet again, by being tricky.
