I thought the same thing, a novelist, and likely a male. Or a female who writes murder mysteries. British came to mind, too.

I think it's a den/sitting room. I would not like sitting in this room because it's dark (no natural sunlight). Heavy drapes, a mix of modern with traditional. The chairs are okay and the tables. The people that live here appear to be wealthy. You can tell by the decor.

The owner has a flair for the dramatic; is a collector (the clustered bell jars, the books, art and objets), has a fondness for symmetry and balance, in decor at least.

Looks to me like the entry way to a trendy NYC apartment. Kind of neat if the rest of the apartment doesn't look like this. I'd think you would get off the elevator here because you own the entire floor, then go into the rest of the apartment.

I love the lamps, the sideboard they are on and the lamps, and the beautiful round table! The rest of it, not so much!

It appear that this person has created a room using items they have and possible can't give up for what ever reason. The hard flooring is cold visually ans well as to the touch. This person may only have friends on the surface. It they were passonate about a subject or individuals there would be photos.

The spaces we live in are an extension of ourselves.
