Thank you for the 'dusty' with 5 cats & 2 dogs I hesitated to say 'furry!'

Re: Describe your decorating style in as FEW words as possible.

As I got older I don't know how it happened but I finally decided to do my house any way I wanted to do it and please myself. So I bought or had made several book cases and most every room in my house has one or more bookcases filled with my histories, biographies, first editions most all hard back books. I have reading chairs for reading or knitting and I have lamps with great light and I have the biggest dining room table that I could find. (It was my mother's). I use it to do business, write letters, pay bills, eat on, and decorate it for the different holidays. It pleases me so I had a room built for it. I don't use curtains because I like the light coming in and the view outside. I have antique drop leaf tables in my rooms for my computers. They work nice between the book cases. I took my third bedroom and put high shelving units on every wall for my purses and my folded t shirts and jeans. I put a shelving unit in my utility room for my pots and pans. It's my house and I do what I want here and if people don't like it too bad. I like it. It's not something you'd see in any magazine but it pleases me. I don't know the style. Maybe library?? My house is full of books. And I have kitties and my dogs here too.

Re: Describe your decorating style in as FEW words as possible.

I have said for years that our style is Early Ameri-Cat

Six cats of varying ages, from almost 19 down to 3 years old. One male with his harem of 5 females. They run the house. We abide by their wishes (or rather their demands).

You know, the funny thing is that people love coming to visit us. They come in, sit down, and immediately have cats in their laps. People come out to the kitchen while I'm cooking and sit at our table. And pretty soon a cat jumps on an adjoining chair to keep an eye on things, too. People know that when they come here, the cats are a vital part of our family.

And that's why our style is "Early Ameri-Cat"
