@GingerPeach  Yay! llls0251.gif   Glad to help! I really believe you will be thrilled you got them...

I've heard that enabling is one of the things I do best km0126.gif

Re: Dennis Basso MG trees

[ Edited ]

I will @lucymo

Right now, my plan is to add them to the "forest" of little artificial trees (and other lights, etc.) that I use to decorate my dining table once winter comes.  But when they arrive they will probably live somewhere else where I can enjoy them daily.   I haven't decided on that spot yet.

Maybe they will move around.  So many possibilities!

@SHOPR  Yes, I remember that set being posted last year...

What I have noticed from nearly all illuminated products other than those I have bought from the Q is that they don't have the timer option.

The set you posted the link to, they are sold out online (from last year I assume). Folks that are members of Sam's Club can of coarse check their local store to see if there were any leftovers from last year. I'm not a member myself.

I also found Amazon selling the same set for much more (also showing no timer option) HERE. As tempted as I am to get them, I'm passing because of the no timer issue Smiley Happy

True, but they do have a remote, which a lot of people might find helpful.  Oh, and non-members can buy things online.  I think there is a 10% surcharge in addition to the regular price.  Going by memory here.

@SHOPR OMG! The set of trees does have a remote! I totally missed that...buy...don't buy...buy...

@Susan Louise, when will you be receiving the set of trees on Amazon?  Bahahaha

@lucymo  The same day as you  im0168.gif

@Susan Louise, I love that motie.  I laugh every time I see it.  I haven't ordered yet.  Did you?  :-)

@lucymo  Yes I did...

What really sold me was looking at the trees on Amazon close up using the zoom...curser over the trees. It is the same finish as the Dennis Basso trees. I didn't like VPH's MG trees I got a couple of years ago in comparison and those went to the Goodwill after 1 year of use. I see myself using these type of MG trees for years. Two other selling points were the reviews and the remote...SOLD! I wan't crazy about the price, but if they REALLY are like DB's trees, it's like almost getting 4 trees for the same price and a remote instead of a timer too Smiley Happy

I have them in my cart, just haven't pushed the button but I will in a minute.  Just got side tracked by other people and checked back in to see if you did buy too.  I read the reviews and they are good and I zoomed them too.  I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't zoom items because a lot of times it means buy or not after I zoom.  Well, got to go buy something.  They only have five sets left. I need help.  LOL

@lucymo It looks like there are still only 5 sets left, so I don't know if you changed ytour mind or not. When I ordered there was 6 sets left...then there was 5....

I just reread the description and noticed that each tree comes with 3 AA batteries! I don't know how good they are, but that's a 1st! I've bought a lot of B/O trees and none have ever come with batteries before...LOL

Those trees are just beautiful!!  I also have looked at them several times and you could tell they were heavy weight and done with class.

I was hoping they would go to a clearance price, as only the gold has been available for awhile, guess I'm being cheap, lol!!    Unfortunately they havent.  I just hate paying that much, even though I do think they are worth it, and then the lights quit working.   Don't know what you could do with changing the lights if that happened.  They do look great without the lights though.

I agree SL they look like a 10.  Do the trees light up all the way to the top?  Do you see the little lights, meaning do the lights themselves stand out or does the light enhance all the way up and down?  Hopefully you understand what I'm trying to ask...

I'm going to keep checking Sam's Club page to see if they come back.  The Amazon price is not bad for the amount of trees, but if Sam's Club are the same trees, that's a good savings.  They look the same.

In one of the reviews it said the smaller tree too AAAs and the bigger tree AAs, are yours like that?

Enjoy these trees, I know you will!!

@mil3  To answer all your questions...yes you can see the light from top to bottom. As for seeing the lights themselves as just the lights...no! Because of the ribbing, the way it's made, there is so much reflection, you don't see the lighting as just 4 or 5 lights. Yes again on the batteries...small ones take AAA, large ones take AA.

I completely understand about the trees being pricey, however, I really don't think these will be restocked again. If you see any 'as is', it will be a rare occurance. If any are sent back, it's due to them being broken during shipment, so they would be defective...not 'as is' anyway.

As for the lights eventually dying, yea...and I really don't see a way of being able to replace them unfortunately. This is just one of those things that can still be enjoyed by it's beauty even when the lights don't work anymore. Additionally, since they are so reflective, if you have anything lit nearby, they will glow.

If you are on the fence, also consider the fact that you can always return them. I know, if you do, you will be out the S&H unless the set is defective anyway. However, if you see how awesome they are, you won't have regrets getting them before they sell out.

I REALLY try saving money whenever I can....using coupons, waiting for sales, and I have bought many things over the years 'as is'. Sometimes I don't mind paying full price for something I REALLY want.

If I waited for a VPH mosaic pearl tree to be 'as is' I would be out of luck. I am so glad I got them full price since there are no more and they will not be restocked either per VPH on her FB page.

On the other hand, I got a lot of sets of the frosted finials 'as is' and saved lots of money on those...

A side note...if you want to stretch out the length of time the lights work, only have them lit (for example) on the weekends, certain days, when you have company, the holidays themselves...all of the above or any combo of...and not every day...which should stretch the life of the lights by double I would think ...HTH Smiley Happy

@Susan Louise, yes, it shows five sets left but I got mine too.  I hope they are going to be what we think they are and I feel they will be.  Thats a good size bunch of trees to scatter around or in a forest.  We did a forest of trees one year and it was so pretty with snowy trails through the trees. We brought in a large shelf from the shop, painted it and set up the display and after wards just took it back out.

@Susan Louise, @mil3, I think you covered all of the points well.  I'm really happy with mine and I'm not worried about the lights not working, I'm just going to enjoy them.  If they do stop working I'll still use them because they are substantial and pretty enough to use without lights.  Not meaning to enable you, mil3, but they are great.  Woman LOL

@lucymo  The quantity just dropped to 4 sets! If the set is not like Dennis's, I'll return them. I don't want them to be like VPH's MG trees. I'm pretty confident they are like Dennis's. I must have zoomed in on them a dozen times...and reread the reviews. I get a kick out of one of the reviews....one of 2 reviews with 4 stars said they were AWESOME! Seriously? When I say something is AWESOME, it's a 5 star review. What could possibly top awesome? *scratches head*...lol I guess some folks don't give 5 stars...

Lucy, please posts pics when you decorate with all these trees...would love to see your forest!!! Smiley Very Happy
