I love decorative pillows too. And throws! I think they add so much softness, cozyness and warmth to a room. I'm all about cozy!

It's fun to use one"s imagination.
I was looking at Etsy for some new floor pillows.
Can't find them in stores and everything is MIC. I wanted to give business to a crafter and they keep 100% of their profits.

Oh, yes, I like them, @wilma ! Large, squishy pillows in interesting fabrics add so much "luxe" to a couch or bed.
I agree with designers who say, go with LARGE pillows (you can layer with all different sizes, but anchor with large). Have also come around to preferring feather or down-- because they feel more luxurious, not stiff-- and because you can "chop" them in the center which looks so cozy.
I had a terrible time with feathers coming through the velvet fabric of two of my pillows-- then I unzipped them and put the feather inserts in two other pillow covers with a different, sort of "tapestry" type fabric. Voila, no more annoying feathers popping through and stabbing me. So, I had to experiment, but they look and feel so soft now.
I like a mix of 22 by 22 inchers, with a few smaller square ones, and at least one longer rectangular "lumbar" pillow. I currently don't have a round one, but that would be good.
One invaluable tip I recently learned, if you want the look of more luxuriously "full" pillows. Always buy your inserts slightly larger than your toss pillows. For example, if you have two 18 by 18 inch covers, stuff them with 20 by 20 inch inserts-- really "ups" the look!
Edited to add: I realized the above paragraph was confusingly written. I meant to say-- buy your inserts slightly larger that your zipped pillow covers.

@Zaimee-- gorgeous and luxurious! And the whole combo, including the art, is highly individual and gives us a tantalizing clue to your personality. I love seeing a well-thought out, defined style such as yours!

I love decorative pillows. When I purchased my new sofa last summer, it came with 4 pillows which I really liked because they're a geometric print. With the 4 pillows, there is hardly room to sit on it but I rarely, if ever, use my sofa. My bedroom has two pillows for sleeping then two pillows in coordinating shams that go with my bedspread. I have three other coordinating throw pillows plus a couple more that are sentimental to me. I really need a new bedroom suite along with new bedding, pillows, etc. That will probably wait a little while longer.

I love decorative pillows and over the course of many yeas have accumulated more than anyone outside of an institution should have accumulated... I can't help it, though. I love pattern and fabrics and this is an easy way to collect them. Also, changing out pillows can change the entire look of a room... I figure, as bad a habit as it's been, it's less costly than whole new rooms of furniture, curtains and rugs...

I'm going out on a limb here by saying this but I think most men don't like a lot of pillows. On our couch I only have the two large ones that came with it. At one time I had many pillows on our bed. Now I only have two shams that match the bedspread and two small throw pillows that match the decor.
My husband used to complain each night when he had to remove all of the extra pillows to turn down the bed. I wouldn't admit it to him but I also got tired of putting all of the pillows back on the bed each morning.
We've reached a happy compromise now and I actually like the bed better without so many pillows.

Yes! I love decorative pillows (and throws) and have them everywhere. Sofa, loveseat, chairs and all beds have decorative pillows. The only problem is that my one dog spends most of his time on the furniture, so the pillows are constantly being knocked to the floor and I am constantly putting them back.
