Everyone is off to such a great start so far this year! I am so happy to see everyone's progress, you all are amazing!
I spent probably an hour yesterday organizing my pantry. I didn't get rid of much but it looks better. I tossed a few small random food items that were almost gone or old, a dog bone, recycled a few paper bags. Set aside to donate one pair of dog nail clippers.
Our "pantry" houses all sorts of random items besides just food. Extra kitchen items, household items, dog items, all sorts of things that we just don't know where else to put them. I organize it fairly regularly but it needed another pass thru.

thanks for starting this thread!!
this is a year round endeavor for me!!
litle by little, things leave the house. i have decided to use up ALL my cleaning supplies, food staples etc. and be more mindful of what i have and what i need.
need to purge: stuffed animals, beanie babies and the rest of kids stuff. all are on their own.
old papers, magazines etc.
i continue to sell on Poshmark, which has been a help.
Keep At It Everyone!!

Thank you, @rnmom, et.al. for decluttering inspiration, and Happy New Year! You all are helpful as partners-in-crime, but also of clutter redeemers.
So far, I've only discarded my old calendars. I've been known to hang onto them for the great photos!
My next job to tackle is to donate books I've read and textbooks I've reviewed.
But there's also the jewelry box. If I gravitate to just a quarter of what I have, I'd be surprised. I simply cannot imagine that, at this stage, I'd look at something exquisitely pretty and think I have to have it.

I got 2 shelves in my (way too small) Pantry purged and organized this week...
Will work on another shelf today - The Dreaded Canned Goods. ![]()

Recently I ordered a pair of jeans that were a TSV and my rule re clothes is something new in, something old out. So as I was deciding which pair of jeans to donate, I realized that I still had pants from when I was working and I had not worn since I retired almost 2 years ago. So went through those pants too. I did keep 2 pair of black, 1 navy, 1 gray, 1 khaki colored, and 1 olive. The olive pants may go when I go through my tops and sweaters but for now they stay. So, into the donate pile went 1 pair of jeans, 2 pair of dressier type crop pants, and 3 pair of work pants.
Also, when I was getting ready for my knee surgery, I ordered a stool for my bathtub/shower. It came with a handle that you could put on the wall but the handle had suction cups and I never felt very secure about using it. Had fears that it would lose suction while I was holding onto it. So tossed that today too.

Thank you @rnmom for starting the new thread. This group is such an inspiration and I see many are out of the 2025 gate chomping at the bit. Way to Go!
Continued my long term organization and cataloging project for a few hours this morning. Sure enough found a few more things for the donate holding shelf in the garage or trash.
-2 well used cd cases
-old portable dvd player
-dvd recorder/player
-text lite message board that is at least 30+ years old
Stopped when the next thing to tackle was a big deep plastic bin full of items. It's the last mystery bin on that side of the storage area. Progress...slow but sure my friends.
Thank again for sharing your stories as they do keep me motivated. Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 2025.

I tossed my 2024 wall calendar and replaced it with a new one, I don't think I mentioned that.
I did some organizing/cleaning in the master closet yesterday. I tossed a pair of dollar tree flip flops, I have one new pair. I rarely wear them, just keep a pair in case we travel and I want some.
I managed to pry one pair of shoes from DH to donate, that was it. He didn't go thru anything with me so nothing left.
I neatened up our drawers and found a pair of running pants to donate.

@rnmom Husbands must be related! The absolute worst when it comes to getting rid of stuff.
We can wear it around the house, I can wear it when I paint, we can cut it up for rags.
I have to throw it out when he's not here and make sure I hide it under stuff in the garbage can.
He never misses it.
