Eight Pairs of Joy Mangano Readers:
I had these stored in a small drawer next to the bed. I tried them on and could not read anything easily. The strength was marked as 2.50. I purchased these many years ago and I now need 3.50 strength. I put these in the donation box.
FYI: I've found it very helpful to have a container set on the side just for donation pick-up items. That way when I'm sorting through things there is a place for me to put the items I no longer want to keep. I just drop them in the container. When full, I put the stuff in a bag and have the charity come and pick them up.
(I just had the charity come about a week ago and already in just doing everyday things around the house I've added 2 bras, 1 scarf and these 8 readers to the box.)

More today:
Went through a file of old appliances handbooks, tossed several from items I no longer own.
While in my files realized I was behind shredding my taxes (accountant says the average person only has to save 3 yrs, 7 if you've run a business, OR if you are ME and have a thing for "just in case" papers...so I save 7)...had two years to shred I didn't realize were still in there.
Emptied shredder again...I think this is 5 bags in past week.
Remember when I went through all craft/art supplies last wk I said "Note to self" get out the paints...well I got out my portable foldup easel and set it up in my loft. Found more of my own old drawings, and some other favorite artwork of others that for now is displayed on it.
Spent time rearranging upstairs to accomodate this...and Lord knows IF and When I'll decide to use it...but I felt the urge to unearth it from stagnation & storage today!
I've also been window shopping online for a side chair/twin sleeper to put up there so yea...it ALL ain't gonna fit, but we'll see. That room has always had to morph, constantly fluid, as it's a mult-purpose, multi-function room...office, workout room, craft room. I just wanted to add a "guest room aspect" with a comfy chair/sleeper. Right now there are only two wicker chairs that used to be on my deck up there. A sleeper side chair would be more comfy & practical. Not a BIG need as I don't have guests that often, (used to have a blow up bed.) Not sure it'll ever happen...honestly, not sure a big chair/sleeper will get up my narrow staircase, so it may be a moot point!
Phew.
I'm pooped. Haha.
That's it for today!

@AuntG wrote:I cleaned our carpets today. I'll count that as decluttering.
A distant relative posted that she purchased a thrift store item (I think a jacket) and found a little book with passwords listed. Her assumption was the person passed away, and the family cleaned closets without going through the pockets. She ended up shredding it because some passwords were for places no longer in business, so it was pretty old. Still, there were things that could have caused potential problems if they landed in the wrong hands.
@AuntG Our family has gone through every pocket, purse, box, when cleaning our family members home. OMG, thank goodness we did. I donated several boxes of my clothing last year in a recent move. Found an envelope with $400. (Which is so surprising for me). Unbelievable because I don't ever remember hiding $400. I think I've shared this before, but one of my close friends, they found quite a few $100 bills in their mothers kitchen valances. Older folks hid in many places.

Those readers are the one thing I have purchased from the other organization (HSN?). I ration them - don't know if they still available.

My 3 shopping bags, filled with one shirt, one pair of shoes and a host of other small, miscellaneous treasures, were dropped off at Goodwill yesterday.

Here is my next decluttering dilemma. I have had this mini (and I do mean mini) tea set made by Royal Staffordshire, since I was a little girl. I'm 69 and I probably got it as a gift, when I was 4 or 5.
I no longer want it. While I should be sentimental about it, I'm not. I don't know what to do with it. I have no little girls in my life. I looked at EBay and there are 2 for sale for just under $400. No takers. I looked at sold eBay listings and there are no listings of any that have sold.
My consignment shop would not take this I'm sure. So, what do I do with it? Any suggestions? We don't really have antique stores in my area. But I also just don't want to hand it over to Goodwill if it is an Antiques Roadshow type piece, LOL. Any suggestions for me?

It's funny how I think I have everything well under control and then I go on a royal rampage tearing this house up.
Today I went through all our linens. I washed every towel I own and parted with several. I decided to donate a set of linen sheets, many pillowcases and then moved on to kitchen linens where I only kept my favorites (except for one of those dreaded gifts I felt too guilty to get rid of).
I also went through all the shipping bags I had stashed from recent purchases. I have a couple of returns to make, but all the other bags are history.
I was also able to do some editing and rearranging of the bookcase I talked about the other day. We didn't borrow a tall ladder from building maintenance, but using a stepstool I was able to do most of the shelves except for the very top.
That's enough for one day! I'm kind of pooped!

I'm far too sentimental to part with that mini tea set. I'd find someplace to display it.

Yesterday:
Dropped off 4 books at Library for their quarterly book sale.
Consignment appt.: They took the Banana Republic blazer (as they should...it was perfect, and I loved it...but it was a zero! I'm a 2-4 now and not trying to be a zero again!...so had to say g'bye to it.
) Now we see my problem...attached much to my clothes? It just was a nice, classic shape/style. Anyhoo, I have two other black jackets but no "classic shape" for now. S'ok, I know where to get another, if I want one.
They also took the dressy lace dress.
Of the jewelry they took a pair of silver garnet earrings, & the Michael Dawkins pearl ring. (I had taken 1 item from the bag...leather/silver cuff, I noticed the leather had a teeny ding in it, so they'd have passed. I'll keep it for now.)
I had the earrings in a cute "high heel pump" with slots that holds post earrings and rings, they didn't take that. I was surprised; they sell all kinds of little things like that in the store. 🤷♀️ They also passed on my turquoise nugget bracelet with heart. I haven't a clue why. (That dang LR sold me that! ha)...far as I know, it's real turq & silver. They had another amber looking nugget stretch bracelet in the store, yet passed on this. This store is an enigma!
I'll call my other consignment shop; they'll take more. One shop is more of a retail boutique, that wants to sell only "just like new", the other is a non-profit (ABC foundation...schooling for underprivileged young girls) and take a bigger range of things to sell for the cause.
Today, I want to finish filling that Goodwill bag, get the doll out of storage to donate, and also drop off my church clothing donations...though I'd like to find more for that.
That's all for now!

@gidgetgh Aw....I LOVE that little Royal Dalton tea set. But I'm a tea drinker with a tea cabinet...NO I can't take it, lol...it's full! Teasing. But, you are right...don't just dump it at Goodwill...
Let's all noodle this for some good suggestions for you...hm...not sure yet, but thinking....🤔 🫖 ☕️
Gosh we have SO many antique stores in my area. I think they'd take it...too bad you don't have any near you. I'm in CT...there's antique stores everywhere in this "Colonial" state!
