Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

@Snicks1   That is just the cutest little dog!  I can see why you had to bring him home with you!!  And the name Luther just suits him perfectly!

Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

I haven't done a lot lately but love reading how everyone else is.
Not declutterring but I did get all of our inside windows clean.  Only because the blinds broke in our bedroom and when I replaced it Icleaned the window and just kept going.  We live in a ranch so it wasn't bad.
I do have a pile of papers that needs to be shredded so I am spending a few minutes each night doing that.

@Snicks1  your little Luther is precious!

I thought I must be the only person who didn't like huggable hangers, lol. I, too, found those thin plastic hangers with swivel heads and like them very much.
Today is clean out the fridge day ahead of trash pickup tomorrow morning.
I have been bringing things in also, for the little doggo I adopted. He's such a sweetie, loves cuddles. After my Snickers passed 16 months ago, I didn't think I could do it again, then I saw this guy and he just melted my heart. Enter Luther, Cairn Terrier (like Toto).

@Snicks1 -Congratulations on your new family member!

I didn't like the huggable hangers either. I stil use cheap, plastic hangers.

Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

Good morning everyone.

I put 8 old, mini blinds out for trash pickup, but it's a swap, as I replaced them with new ones.
Today, I plan to "borrow" my husband's truck from my stepson (gave it to him after DH passed, which means I have to drive 16 miles to get it, then load up all the metal I cut off from the rim of the now defunct pool and take it to the metal recycler, then load up an 8' section of laminate countertop and a couple of outdoor items and drop them off at a place that resells stuff, then return the truck.
Our townwide cleanup is just another 10 days away and I could put all this out for them to haul off, but, they now require everything to be 4' lengths, bundled in 50 lb. or less, and to be honest, it all goes to the landfill. What I am doing is actually less work for me, and won't go to the landfill. I have no intention of cutting all that metal into 4' lengths.
Hoping you have a good day.

I kept the countertop, for now, am waiting to see if the Humane Society wants it for their garage sale. Everything else I mentioned is gone. Also a lamp and 2 small-ish silk floral arrangements I was given when DH passed. It was very kind of the giftors, but I didn't really like them (kept them 18 months, time for them to go).

4 pairs of pants donated along with nicely framed picture.   A few skirts and two tops also in bag.  (My donation bag was in dining room so I was "encouraged" to go to donation center.)  Nothing purchased that trip - progress.

Re: Declutter 2024: What Have You Purged Today?

Ladies, I have you to thank. So I want to make sure that I do Thank You.

I finally threw out a pair of sweat pants. They had a sweat shirt that went along with them. The elastic in the pants were worn out. But I liked the sweat shirt and pants they were so comfortable and warm.

But the pants were past their prime. So they went out in the trash. Thanks for giving me the push.

Will have to start bringing out spring/summer clothes and figure that more clothes will have to go. So guess the pants are just a start of more to follow.

@Snicks1 - That still sounds like a lot of work for one person! You must be one strong, tough lady! I don't think I could do it!

@drizzellla - Good job! Sometimes the hardest part is just getting started.
