Re: Declutter 2023: What have you purged today?

Good morning!

Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend and want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Was tempted to buy the TSV Ryka shoes yesterday but before doing so, I went and checked what sneakers I had.  Come to find out, I had 2 pair that were never worn - tried on but not worn - because they were a half size too big.  Why I didn't send them back, who knows.  Anyway, in the donate pile they went.  Ended up finding a pair that were the right size and still new so didn't buy the TSV.

So the shoes and a few picture frames that I no longer need are in the donate pile.  My last hurrah of decluttering before the end of 2023!

Re: Declutter 2023: What have you purged today?

@JudyL  this sound like a familiar refrain for me too. Threw out a pair of outside boots  yesterday that required me to rally all my contortionist skills to get off and on my feet. UGH! They were part of my Toss it Tuesday routine that I'm ready to ramp up after 2023 trial runs. Every little bit counts!

I look forward to following this group in 2024. Happy New Year All!

Re: Declutter 2023: What have you purged today?

My younger son has 2 hoodies that he no longer wears. One is nice and is set aside to donate. The other has some stains on the front and got tossed.

I haven't had a donate plle for a while because I haven't been decluttering anything that is worth donating.  I just started a new pile with the one hoodie!

Re: Declutter 2023: What have you purged today?

Hi all~Well...I just went through the fridge to toss all old things, and start fresh in the New Year. Freezer seems up to date but I'll give it one last look.

Yesterday when looking for something in upstairs files, I thought I will do a timed quick pass through financials today, that are piled on my filed financials box...to see what is no longer needed. (I pile things there as they come in, then later file them. Sometimes I save those books they send out, quarterly reports etc...for a while, NEVER read them, then toss.)

I don't feel like doing a "major filing" project this morning, but a quick pass through piled paperwork to see what can be tossed and start fresh for the new year. In the new year I will do a more thorough pass through files...get ready for tax season etc.

That's all for me. See y'all in the 2024 thread...meantime...

Happy, Healthy New Year! 🎉🍾🥂

Happy New Year!
Hoping to get back to "decluttering" in the new year, it may be a while though, as I have started repainting the woodwork in my house and I'm not good at it (don't have a steady hand and am messy, lol), so, we'll see. I'll probably take some breaks from it, so it could still happen.

What I declutter in 2023

Shredding old papers and thrown out expired medicine, sending clothes to Goodwill and a beautiful dinnerware set due to lack of space.

Re: Declutter 2023: What have you purged today?

It's been a bit since I've posted, so I'm trying to remember what I have purged from my home. Several socks have gone in the trash, 2 or 3 bras also. 2 kitchen knives that I didn't like, 2 floor lamps that I replaced with others went to donations. This afternoon, I will have a love seat and 2 recliners leaving, but am replacing with a sofa and 1 new recliner, so everything is almost a complete swap out.
Everyone is doing such a great job with decluttering that it keeps me motivated, although I am getting to the point of not having a lot more to purge. I'm positive I will find more, tho. There is always something hanging around that is no longer needed or wanted.

Weeds growing in my back yard. Quite a few have popped up since our heavy rains in Northern California.
