Does anyone know if this version has an on switch that has to be held continuously in order to work, or does the switch have a lock (or something similar) that will allow the user to stop squeezing the On button while using it.
I tired their first version a year or so ago and liked it except I found it difficult to continuously hold/squeeze the on button in order to have it run. I understand it only runs 20 minutes or so, but some of us have difficulty in doing so and would rather be able to lock the on switch on for the duration of the cleaning.
TIA

I don't know if you have been watching this morning and caught the caller about 10 minutes ago. She asked just that question. It is not an on/off switch, it runs only as the trigger is pressed. Albany did a good job showing how it works though, and it isn't really a trigger switch that requires you pull and hold with your first joint of your index finger, it's placed so it's more like a natural gripping action more at the base of your index finger as you grip and hold the vacuum.

Good question.....and...if you read the reviews on Amazon...the biggest complaint is that when using it on high...there is only a five minute window to use it before you have to charge it again....and it takes three and a half hours to recharge....
Go to Amazon and read what the people are saying...the Q. has the best price, though....
That twenty minute is when you use it on low...
I have a Dyson that is a stick....and holding that button is a real pain....I have watched a couple of presentations and holding that
button has not been addressed...

I have an much older model. Holding in the on switch was a pain at first, but I have got accustomed to it (and I have arthritis in my hands).
What holds me back from purchasing the latest model is the charging time.
My older model has a removable battery. I bought two batteries and always have one charged. The latest models have permanently affixed batteries.

Thanks for the replies..... I don't see why they won't use a slide lock. You depress the top of the slide and get pretty much the same action, you hold it on and when you let go, the power stops. BUT if you want it on the whole time, you slide it and it locks on. Of course they don't want you wasting your power because the few minutes you get on high will be gone in a nano second....
I'll have to pass.....
I hear Electrolux has a very good stick vac....
