DOMINICK DUNNE'S COUNTRY HOUSE

I always love to see how writers live (or lived) and how it tracks with their perceived personas by the public.

The late Dominic Dunne was from New England originally, and I think late in his life had a beautiful old house in Connecticut.  Interesting to see how very traditional his taste was.  I think the rooms are pretty, and look like they could belong to him.  The only one that I'm averse to is the very dark green bedroom.

The house does seem like it would be a cozy writer's retreat.  I'm not really a "red" person, nor fond of his colors in general, but do see its charm.  The setting, amid Connecticut meadows with old stone walls, ponds etc. is reputedly beautiful.

This must be where he worked:

@Oznell  Thank you for postings these, it has been awhile since I have seen them.  I have, always, liked them.  So funny because I have, always, wanted a English Coach Green lacquered bedroom with all white trim.  I have, yet, to achieve it.  Yes, he was born and lived in Hartford, Ct.  His father was a very well known heart surgeon and the family was wealthy.  He attended Canterbury in New Milford, Ct.  He married into a very prominent and wealthy family from Arizona (I think).  His brother was John Gregory Dunne who was married to Joan Didion.  He had a life that was filled with so many highs, so many lows and a heartbreaking tragedy!

Here are some pictures of his NY apartment on Est 49 Street, a small one bedroom penthouse with a glorious terrace!0FEA8E17-B755-44DC-8B2E-A4DA734B42F1_1050x700.jpg74A66EC3-CD5E-4B53-92A6-BE20A19BAB95_1050x700.jpg529B809F-AC4C-495F-93E6-A1B75DBCE7E5_1050x700.jpgB360B0DB-1FE5-4476-8D41-7082737A0129_1050x700.jpg

Re: DOMINICK DUNNE'S COUNTRY HOUSE

These are really nice pictures of a simple but elegantly decorated home. I like some of the colors but others are not my style but the overall design/style is really nice.
