I had the same issue with my Dyson. Dyson battery was out of stock via the company. Thankfully, I purchased mine at Costco. They exchanged for the same (lower) price I purchased it for.

I bought another Electrolux. My husband, foolishly, gave it to the darn Rainbow man as a trade-in and yet paid more than $2000 for the vacuum cleaner. It lasted about 7 years. I think my housekeeper did not take care of it because several friends have had them that lasted for 20+ years. I bought an Oreck. It lasted about 3 years. I bought a Dyson from QVC (plug-in). It lasted about 2 years. I now have my 3rd Shark. I don't know if we are just rough on vacuum cleaners or we have had a lot of pet hair that has destroyed them or just what, but vacuum cleaners don't last us a long time. But I can say Dyson went the fastest followed by Oreck.
I myself have an Electrolux upright that I still use for quick vacuuming by my back door and laundry room. "She" is 30+ years old. So I treat her gently ☺️.
I recently bought a vacuum from Home DePot, a ProTeam brand. Had never heard of it before. It is a corded one, and let me tell you, that thing is great! My carpet looks amazing! The drive motor is in the base and it almost runs itself! It looks almost exactly like my treasured Electrolux, so that's why I bought it.
I know a person who used to sell the Rainbow ones, and she said you have to clean that tank after every use. Super clean it. I don't have time to clean a vacuum that just cleaned my house. No thanks.
Those battery operated ones just don't cut it for me.

@mintedrose something similar happened to me. The battery lasted about 6 months. Just my opinion, but I think that's where they make their money.

I love my Oreck upright vacuums. So lightweight and all the dirt goes directly in a bag. I didn't like the cordless vac that was tethered to an outlet all the time.

I really dislike it when someone YELLS not to buy a certain product. How about just saying that it didn't work out and you wouldn't buy it again. Personally, I've had Dyson products for over 10 years and have found them to be excellent. My corded Dyson doesn't get used as much but it'll suck up a tennis ball if given the opportunity!
I use my rechageable Dyson at least 3 times per week and empty the cannister after each use. I replaced the battery once after almost 5 years....purchased it on Amazon for under $40. The suction is excellent and it's lightweight enough for me to use easily.
I understand that not everyone likes the Dyson products....I've never had good luck with Shark but I wouldn't tell anyone not to buy one because they didn't work for me.
Have a good evening.

I agree with you. The battery on my Dyson cordless vac didn’t last long. It died before my vac was two years old and was not heavily used. I bought it to vacuum in areas where my corded vacuum couldn’t reach or fit under.
I wasn’t educated about cordless vacs and didn’t realize the rechargeable battery would eventually die and need to be replaced. I decided I’ll stick with my corded vacuums.

Thanks, I am writing down the name of that ProTeam. I will get one of those. I am in need of one because that Shark I have is really not very sharp. It's not getting the fine dirt. I like to go barefoot inside and I like to have a very clean floor on which to walk.

My 5 year old cordless Dyson's battery is still going strong and I use that battery to charge my 2 year old one also. I vacuum somewhere daily with them with no issues. I do not keep either plugged into the battery once charged so that might be the difference in how long the battery lasts!

@jannabelle1 Dont get so dramatic just because you dont like other people opinions. Do you go around telling everyone what you dont like about their post or is it just this one? Theres tons of posts people post when they're frustrated with their items.
Last time I checked this is a free forum where we can share our opinions about products and reviews. If you dont like it, dont comment. Maybe yours works miracles but its not true for everyone. Discouraging someone to not voice their opinions on products or insinuating that they didnt use the product right is not condusive in any way.
And I'd love to see a video of you diesoon sucking up a tennis ball. Let us all know when you post it here.
