Re: DALLAS ARCHITECT'S HOUSE

Good points, @stevieb ,   I agree with them.  I did find the house a little 'overdone' in some aspects, although I admire the skill and some of the handsome effects he achieved.  That designer's "glossiness" I thought was somewhat tempered by his disciplined color schemes.

And agree--  I wonder why the redesigned architecture of the exterior wasn't more felicitous?

I'm always curious about the choices that designers make for themselves...

Re: DALLAS ARCHITECT'S HOUSE

You're most welcome, @Mimi 1883 !  There are a few more pics of this specific house on the "Cote de Texas" blog (which is really a fun, detailed decorating blog-- I really recommend it.).   She also shows the archtitect's stunning range of antique collectibles and decor pieces that are being sold at the same time as the house.

I hope to put up pictures of "Part 2",  when "Cote" says she will show a contrasting house that will be a counterpoint to this more 'masculine' residence.  That will be an interesting comparison, I think...

@Oznell  Do you have pictures of other homes? I like classic 🙂and not a fan of modern or even the retro looks. I find a lot of beautiful houses and interiors on Pinterest (love that site) and love looking at them. Thanks so much for posting these!!

If you celebrate, have a Happy Easter 🐣 🌺!

Re: DALLAS ARCHITECT'S HOUSE

Certainly better than the original. I love the dining room set, those curtains schlepped all over the floor- NO -

It's not a mansion, in order to do that style curtain you need a huge room with very tall ceilings.  Pet peeve of mine.  It's sloppy.

I love most of this beautiful home. Some of the ornate pieces are just too much for me but that's  all I would change....the pool area is perfection.

Re: DALLAS ARCHITECT'S HOUSE

Too many "decorative" items clutter the rooms.  I'd trip over most of them.

I always picture things covered with dog hair.  Too many dog hair catchers in this house.  Remove those and the rest is fine.

Re: DALLAS ARCHITECT'S HOUSE

It all looks a bit cluttered to me.  And why don't people put window coverings up?  i.e. curtains, drapes, shades, etc.
