Re: Creamy, Serene Bedroom...

Ha @stevieb I like everything but the bed, too. I don't mind a 4-poster bed but not big on the wrought iron.

@Meowingkitty oh gosh that's really funny but totally a factor! I used to laugh because I had a black dog and a collie mix with lighter hair. No matter what color slacks I wore, it showed dog hair.

Now I have a Siamese cat - she's a very dark seal point.

Lovely room for those that like this palette. Me? My bedroom is red.

I like the room, like the bed but hate the side table.  I am over shabby chic.

@stevieb The room itself is calm and serene but that bed would go to the curb.  At some time I would initiate a pop of color I am certain.

@stevieb

As others here have mentioned, no color to it.  Pastels for me would be serene.  Also, not a fan of any of the furnishings & drapes so this room is a NOPE for me.  Thanks for sharing.

I could live with that room but without the 4 poster.

I agree. I love the 'creaminess', although I'm sure many find it boring.  But the dark lines of the bed ruin the rest of the atmosphere for me.

I prefer light neutrals, especially in a bedroom.

@geezerette  Agreed. I love color but don't think it has to be infused into every conceivable space, especially when a room is done well without it. As for that bed, had they stopped with the linen look headboard and skipped the metal posts, I'd have been all in... The room might not be my be all and end all bedroom, but I do like it and find it restful...

Re: Creamy, Serene Bedroom...

It does look restful and soothing.  Love the inviting chair and the way the curtains just 'melt' into the wall, without any harsh demarcation.  I don't really mind the high-contrast of a metal bed, although this rather squared-off one wouldn't be my first choice.

Adding maybe just one object of interest would make it more appealing to me, maybe a beautiful painting over the bed, a sculpture or antique clock on the bedside table-- to me that would "personalize" it, without going over into the "too-stimulating" category....
