I very much like the first area and there are elements of several of the others I like as well. The second, less the too chunky for me table, is also very appealing. There are a few I'd avoid altogether, but I'm really liking the notion of a cozy eating area too.

I like 1, 2, 3, 4, 8.  With #1, I would change the printed chairs at the table.

I'd love to have room #3 if I could swap for the white chairs in room #7.

Enjoyed your feedback. We have an open decor design. It's been a while since we've had a formal dining area. It was nice, but we downsized and I don't miss it. My island chairs are great for people to sit and chat with me while I'm working in the kitchen.

Ah, relaxing, serene--  each image of dining has something to highly recommend it!   Great images, @jeanlake .   I especially like the way some of them effortlessly mix design styles --  modern, rustic, traditional, bohemian.

I couldn't have worded it better myself!  I completely agree!

I have absolutely no taste when it comes to decorating...it's OK, you don't need to feel sorry for me...I've known it for a long time.

However, I do know what I don't like and that first picture has way too much 'stuff' going on at the same time.

Just sayin'.

I really LOVE the chairs and fabric in example #1... makes me want to sit right down with a cup of tea.
