@Hoovermom  I tend to agree on short curtains. I've always opted for floor length.

If I had a new home, I would choose plantation shutters, shades or blinds, but NOT curtains.   

 

40 years ago when this house was built, the type of trim installed around all the windows   makes it impossible to mount any type of hardware inside the trim.  Therefore I am forced to have curtain rods and curtains at all of my windows.   

I would not be so quick to drill holes in my sheetrock to hang curtain rods.

I love the look of plantation shutters. We had them for 14 years in my last house. Unfortunately, my kitties didn't appreciate them.
