No. I'd feel claustrophobic.

No, because they are hard to have on properties. (zoning) Also, they seem bulky to move. I would rather have a small rv or travel trailer.

Not for me. But I do enjoy watching the shows.

Maybe if I had started out in a tiny home, I could live there, but now when I've spent a whole life accumulating things I love or that remind me of people and times I've loved, getting rid of everything is far more difficult.
I know this first hand because in 2008, I sold my 3 bedroom with attic and basement house and downsized to a small 2 bedroom apartment in a private home. At that time, I purged many things and even that was hard although certainly sensible. Then last year, the owners needed to retrieve space for an elderly relative and I had to choose between moving and downsizing on site. I chose to downsize to under 500 square feet and stay. After all, I'm there for about 6 months and they are the easy months to be North.
Still - losing the floor space was bad enough but losing even more storage as well as space for what furniture I had kept really changed how I could live my daily life. I can do it - and will probably continue as long as I can take care of myself and be independent. No way could I imagine a second person living with me in that space however.
I just can't imagine being a family and living an American life style in those tiny spaces. I'd like to see HGTV revisit some of those families 2 or 3 years after they made their moves.

I've seen several tiny homes I thought were very cute and convenient for small scale living, but I see this as a fad that does not work for most couples, or families, long term. My family could not make this concept work for us even on a vacation; we are not "together" kind of people.
I could see myself living in a one level tiny home only as a single person, but would want a full size stove and refrigerator, along with a handicapped accessible bathroom. Essentially my tiny home would need to be equivalent to a 12x50 mobile home. I would buy a mobile home, travel trailer, or a small house under 1000 sq ft before I would go with the tiny house concept.

I like to spread out if I want to. We have lots of areas to go off to. We can still be together in the same room if we want but in those tiny homes, there are no options. And there is no privacy. I like my privacy.

We can live in 1,000 square feet if it's designed efficiently and we could probably go smaller if we had off-site storage. If I were 20-something, single and owned nothing, then I could probably live in 300 square feet comfortably, but it wouldn't be in one of those loft bed, shower only, composting toilet, not allowed to park almost anywhere boxes that television is touting as a tiny home.

My husband and I with our 2 kids lived in a 35' long by 12' Park Model Mobile Home with 2 bedrooms.every Summer for 15 years. It was in a Camping Resort. It had a full screened in deck and the kids had a separate screen room to play in when the weather was rainy. That was fun when everyone had a million outdoor activities to do but I don't think I could handle it all year with cold weather being stuck inside.

No way. I wouldn't mind a home without a kitchen though
! LOL
