Some of the items we love at Costco we can't even find at the regular grocery. I just bought Organic Black Bean Spaghetti (Gluten free) and I haven't seen anything like that at the grocery store! I haven't tasted yet but hope it's good.

Their package of 6 heads of Romaine lettuce are so much cheaper than the grocery store that I can throw away half of it and still make out. But I don't usually have to do that; I just share with my family Smiley Wink

Oh, the Heavy Whipping cream is a steal too. It's twice the size for about the same price. It's great to have on hand for coffee/recipes/etc.

While I do like shopping in the store (and online) we will never take another Costco Travel trip. We found it to be a total rip off and their customer service was horrible.

I just picked up 5 fabulous blankets there, 2 of them nicer versions of the Basso faux fur TSV for 19.99 ( I returned my TSVs as Costco's are nicer) and the other three not faux fur for 14.99. Plus microfiber thermal layer tops 8.99, and a really nice reversible wrap for 14.99, plus the heavy flannel shirts ( mens) 12.99

Costco gas here is usually 2 cents cheaper than our cheapest local stations so I don't go out of my way to get gas there.

I just purchased one of those heavy flannel shirts. Got it for myself in medium. I use it as a jacket this fall, perfect. Very heavy and well made. I think once it gets colder, during the winter, might just find myself wearing it around the house on the weekends. So soft and cozy.

I always joke that my visits end up being a very pricey gallon of milk!!!

We are two, three every three months and summer, and I buy everything I can at Costco. For instance, two larger gallons of milk than the market offers is $3.+ for the two, half as much as at the market. The same with bread, I keep the extra bread and bagels in the freezer. Butter is dirt cheap, organic eggs, and on and on. The only items I don't buy there are items it doesn't carry, for the most part.

mousiegirl......I had to chuckle at your last sentence (the one I bolded). I guess the same could be said of any store - we don't buy things there that they don't carry.

I've wondered often about whether it would be worth it to purchase a membership. After reading all the responses here, I'll have to think some more.

I am a single person and have belonged for many years. I share the membership with another person so I only pay half and that certainly helps. I use their pharmacy when needed as I find it worthwhile to make the extra trip....their prices are usually better. I know that they only carry quality merchandise...sometimes too good for my wallet! I have bought eyeglasses, clothes, great sheets at incredible price and so much more. Of course, they change their offerings and you never know exactly what you will find. It is always a special trip for me but one I gladly do at least once or twice a month. There is no place better when you are entertaining. Recently bought a couple of their incredible cakes....clean ingredient label and frankly it would have cost me more for the ingredients to make it! They are also carrying more and more organic foods and meat.

A new Costco opened 40 minutes away. I don't buy enough to make it worthwhile, but I was able to get my membership on social living. It was $55, but you got a gift card for $20 and $25 worth of items. I figured for $10, why not. I've been once since getting it. I need to take a trip there sometime soon. If I don't get another value to renew, I probably won't. I like Costco, I just don't need to buy in bulk.

I also am amazed at their very large sheet cakes- for around $17!!! I got the chocolate roses cake last for my daughters graduation party, wow was that GOOD!

Great deal for the membership! But if you buy a pair of eyeglasses or a set of tires just once, the membership has paid for itself.

I buy very little in 'bulk' from Costco- just items I use regularly and the membership pays for itself tenfold. Even the auto buying program is great- that saved me $500 (over any of the other auto buying program quotes out there!) when I bought a new car!
