Houston and Midland!  No wonder you're glad you got out of Texas!  I'm in the NE part of the state (the Piney Woods).  Dream location would be the mountains of Montana with a stable full of horses (and a donkey)

I love this comfortable, light, airy room.

If that is a tv above the fireplace mantle, I would remove it.  (Too high on the wall).

I would hang a beautiful painting of light, airy colors.

I really like the room.  Could use a pop of color.

I don't find it unattractive, but it's not for me. Even given its 'genre' as a contemporary room, it's nothing particularly special. The space itself looks pretty nice but the decor is rather uninspired and essentially mundane.

that's almost exactly my coffee table, except mine has four legs and is open on the bottom sides.  i love it.

i like the bones of this room.  i would keep the two couches, but the rest of the room and accessories i would warm up with my own colors and accessories.

@godi   I think when I was in the market for a new cocktai table they did not have ones with storage but it is such a good idea for storing remotes, matches if you have candles, a book you are reading, etc.  I recently purchased a deep basket to hold extensions that are chargers, and the TV remotes.
