Re: Contemporary Living Space

For me it needs different furnishings and decor to have appeal.  I prefer more color.

Re: Contemporary Living Space

It looks pretty generic to me so you could add your own personal touches.

This room could easily be accessorized with Southwest items which would change its entire vibe and give it some color.  I have the items and it would be fun to do.

ITA. SW decor would look great in this house. I could decorate it so easily.

I have several pieces in a spare bedroom plus pictures.

Used to be a spare bedroom. We have removed the bed. Eventually when DH gets finished it will be his indoor man cave.

Don't know what I will do with all my SW pieces?

@Nightowlz.  I'll send you my address.

I don't usually like Built-Ins, but I love this room.

It's fine.  Not for me but it's pretty.  Our den is "Cowboy Chic".  Our coffe table is huge and probably weighs 150lbs but the room is huge too.  It's DH's "trophy" room.  I know, I don't like it either but it's Texas so...

Re: Contemporary Living Space

Although not my favorite style, I do like that there is room to breathe-- it is airy and light-filled.  The other thing I like is the relatively substantial size of the accessories...

For me, it would need a bit more personalizing to lift it out of the rather impersonal "showroom" vibe.

@monicakm.  I know you have to put up with a lot when you're in Texas.  Boats, fishing tackle, dead fish in your sink, guns, horns everywhere in the house,, having to cook and eat venison, it goes on and on.  You have my sympathy.

I like it for a beach home in my area. It's bright and airy.

Sounds like you live here too LOL  And I do NOT eat venison (anymore).  I used to in my younger years but not anymore.  DH gives the meat away.  But (good) news.  The lease he's been on for 30 years has sold.  I'm hoping at 63 years old he'll hang up his guns and not kill sweet little deers.  I know all the "but we have to thin out the population" reasons.

DH has a shop out back with running water so that's where he does all his cleaning.  No dead fish in my kitchen sink Smiley Happy

AND...I must have clicked on the wrong forum.  I just thought it was an off topic post on the Beauty forum LOL
