Re: 'Coastal' with a More Tropical Vibe...

I have to admit, I love this room. Though it's more room than I'd typically want in the way of size I love the soft colors and the overall mood of the room. There isn't a single element I don't like, though I'd probably not opt to have them all in a single space. Adore the inlaid coffee table, the elegant side tables, the gorgeous armoire and, well, everything else. I tend toward richer tones in color choices, though not exclusively so, but this room has me contemplating seeking out some of my more springtime colored accents and revamping my main living space. I love the corals and soft greens and while I know I'd be ready to pull the deeper hued accessories out sooner rather than later, it might be fun to have a little help imagining those tropical breezes, especially at a time when I think most of us could use a little something to lift our spirits...

@stevieb

You're on a roll with posting beautiful tropical/coastal homes!

This room is gorgeous .. loving the colors & most of the decor.  I'd replace the 2 pieces on the left, the large chest & stand next to it.

Upon entering this room I think it would put a smile on anyone.  Very comfy.

Yes please ... I'll take it  Woman Very Happy

Re: 'Coastal' with a More Tropical Vibe...

@sceniccoast  Glad you're enjoying some of the posts... Have to say although I'm not really much of a 'beach' person and although I'm not one of those who dislikes winter and longs for summer, since I'm actually not a big fan of summer, I have to say that lately I'm sort of longing for ocean breezes and tradewinds... I'm also in the mood to enjoy some softer colors for a change... Hope all is well with you and do take care...

I, like you, am not always a fan of the warmer weather.  Mostly due to the humidity, black nats & mosquitoes.  It just zaps my energy level.  I can deal with cooler weather better.

I do appreciate yours & everyone else here who posts all their photos.

Good luck on your spring color decisions.  I'm ready for some as well, just waiting for DH to get in the spirit of painting.  He hates it.

You take care as well, thanks.

I love the sofa but everything else would be replaced.

@sceniccoast  Thanks and it's so nice that you always express appreciation to posters. Really perks up the ole spirit! As for my spring colors, rest assured, I'm not talking about anything extensive like painting... I'm just thinking about changing  out the throws, sofa pillows, some the decorative objects and so on... No major redecorating projects on the horizon for me... Like your husband, unless someone else is doing it, painting is a chore!

Doesn't matter the scale of your "refreshing" spring project  .. I feel its more about a welcoming change.  Just a feeling of newness, to some extend.  It will put a smile on your face.  Enjoy it.

In our case, I feel the paint is necessary.  DH has been retired now for about 2 yrs.  He has done some painting projects in the past.  I'd feel much better about putting new furniture in a "refreshed" home.  Who knows, perhaps, I can strike a bargain with him.  Woman LOL

There's not much here that appeals to me, except for maybe the wall color. Pillows everywhere - where is a person supposed to sit comfortably, except maybe in the two chairs in the front! Honestly, when I see pillows that cover an entire seating area, it gives me the feeling that the room is just to look at.

Re: 'Coastal' with a More Tropical Vibe...

This decorating is horrible! There isn't one thing in this room that is "coastal"! Way too cluttered. You can barely walk through. I live in a cottage on a lake and my decorating is beachy and coastal and it surely doesn't look anything like this!
