Are the Joy M hangers any better than the regular flocked hangers available in stores? I have some of the generic flocked hangers, and while they do support the shoulders of a garment nicely, garments don't go off and on the hangers as easily. I also often use those swivel hook "crystal" hangers because they don't poke bumps in the shoulders.

I think they're all basically the same except for color options. I have some JM's, but got a boatload of flocked hangars at Costco really inexpensively and they work just fine.

I bought some inexpensive ones at Walmart....hated them...bought the JM's and love them...I have all my closets converted to JM's....

I have some great wooden hangers from Costco but I'm not particularly happy with the flocked ones I got there, I've had them break where the hook and hanger meet. The wood ones I have also do a better job with shoulders.

I love JM hangers. That's all I have. No more dropped clothing on my closets floors.

All my closets have HHs because I've had some bad experiences with the knock-offs (breaking, color bleeding onto garment). OP - you mention having difficulty removing clothing from the regular flocked hangers. HHs will do the same thing because they are designed to prevent items from slipping off. This is a great feature for silky blouses and camis.

If you do buy the generic ones, make sure you check the label to see if they are colorfast. Some of the less expensive ones say on the label that they will bleed and cannot be used with wet clothes. I have mostly Joy's, but I also bought a set at Target and they seem to be the same quality.

Yes, this is what happened to me with the generic hangers. I ruined some items this way, so don't make the same mistake I did!

Good to know about color bleeding. Sometimes I hang semi-dry laundry to finish drying. I thought I saw HH at Target.

The original JM Huggable Hangers are better than the knockoffs. Yes, Joy's hangers really are "all that."

Buy hers & buy some of theirs, too, if you want. You'll see the difference. I did. I only buy hers now.
