I have a Bissell Crosswave.  It is great for cleaning large area of hardwood, tile floors, and even rugs, too.  But the problems is cleaning the machine after you clean the floors. You have to take all the components apart, wash it, and let it air dry.  So, I end up only using it once.  (It was too much trouble to clean after cleaning).

So, now I just use the Don Aslett's Microfiber Mop. it is less hassle to clean.

@homedecor1, I have a lot of tile.  I use the Hoover steam vac.  I use it on the tiles and I do area rugs also.  I love that it it has a separate clean water and dirty water tank.  Mine is 12 years old and going strong.  LM

Lots of tile and grout in my house and bought a specific grout brush (think it's Fuller) <$20 and long handle for use while standing.  use baking soda and vinegar and clean with brush then mop with spin mop and the floors look great. recently bought new stove, when i saw the gleaming white grout under the old stove, started this process. plan to reseal the grout, but that's just one step i haven't made yet.

I just purchased a Nellie's Wow Mop. I bought it off of Nellie's website with a coupon. HSN also has them. I will tell you that I was hesitant to purchase this because it was $200 but this machine is a little gem. It is cordless so very easy to use and sturdy. I also like the Nellie's floor cleaner. It has a nice soft scent, and seems to clean very effectively.

I agree, I have a Bissell crosswave and cleaning it after I clean is gross and difficult. Right now it is sitting mainly unused because it is so hard to clean.

You do have to sweep/vac before your steam. The steamer mentioned here that is a vac/steamer is good. My sister uses it because she didn't want to vac/sweep then steam. Steam removes everything without chemicals. If it is a stubborn dried spot, then just let it sit on the spot for a few seconds. This loosens the junk and comes right up. Happy cleaning.

I only dust mop or mop with a don aslett mop on my tile floors. Every 2 weeks when the housekeeper comes she first sweeps with sweeper then does the grout lines with a brush and then mops with a spin mop. Every spring when I get the carpets steam cleaned I also get the tile floors steam  cleaned and they really get the grout clean.

Re: Cleaning Suggestion : Steamer, Microfiber Mop

I have a Bissell steamer for the floor that I use often. I got it prob 20 years ago. but I vacuum first then use it. I have vinyl floors in the bathrooms and tile downstairs. I use it most for the bathroom floors to remove the residue form the hairspays  that I use. I works very well and I use it maybe 2x a year. Haven't really used it on the tile tho--maybe I will--I have darker grout than the tile so you don't really see if it is discolored or not. ewwww------!!!!!

You have to vacuum first before using a steamer.  I have a Haan steam mop and like it.

Not all floor steamers are the same. I swear by Hahn. That's the one I have. The floors are clean and dry in a minute. It even gets the grout lines. If I have any stubborn stain there then I just hold it on the spot for another minute. I have multiple floor surfaces that I use this on, ceramic, marble, hard wood and engineered wood. Works great. I also use the Don Astlet mop for dusting the floors.

I know my kids the the Shark brand of steamer. They have ceramic and vinly flooring.

I would go with Hahn.
