I'd be afraid of dropping something on it and breaking it.

Re: Cleaning Glass cooktop stoves

I found that all the "cleaners" for the glass tops, leave a haze, cloudy and all the you mentioned.  I found that the scrapper with the razor blade was very good to remove burned on bits and it does not scratch.  Bartenders Friend is fabulous, sprinkle some on the glass top to remove any overflow on the glass, wipe with clear water and shine with a paper towel.  If I have  no water marks, I will use glass plus or windex and shine with a paper towel.  Leaves no residue and glass top is nice and shiny!

@goldensrbest  Do you have a black glass cook top and use clean boss on it?

I use Ceramabryte cleaner for glass cooktops. I do also use a single edge razor scraper blade to get any burned food off before using the cleaner. I bought it where I bought my cooktop as it was recommended. It's the best product for glass cooktops I have found.

@SeaMaiden,

I've always wanted a glasstop and finally have one! No more cleanig those awful drip pans or buying new ones.

For my mother's and mine I use the magic sponge as soon as it cools and the red light goes off. Then I use vinegar and a soft terry cloth. It looks like new after 5 years. And I could always get my mothers burned on stuff off too.

But a lot of these other suggestions sound good too!

@SeaMaiden  You won't be disappointed! After I do the clean up, I'll rinse any residue off & buff with a dry microfiber cloth and my cook top is so clean & shiny & brand new looking. It's very rewarding!

That's why I used to finish up with Pledge.  It removed that haze that the cleaners left behind.
