Re: Chunky Look in the Kitchen...

The chairs do not fit in with the rest of kitchen.  I do like the kitchen but change those chairs.

Re: Chunky Look in the Kitchen...

It doesn't seem to be very functional.  The stove is so far from the sink and where is the fridge?  The windows are very nice, but I think I would re-arrange things.  Don't care for the chairs.

Re: Chunky Look in the Kitchen...

It's nice and bright and open but I'm not really thrilled with the chairs.  And yes, it could use a bit of color - perhaps this could be done with the chair choice and some type of centerpiece, plants, dishes, placemats, etc.

@stevieb I totally like everything but those chairs... I could live with them but would replace them given a chance, perhaps a colored chair.

Re: Chunky Look in the Kitchen...

I don't doubt someone paid a lot of money for this. The execution is horrendous! Those corner units...are they storage or a fridge? The angled tops try to fill the tall ceiling space....badly. And the elephant in the room....that table/counter. It does nothing for the room, takes up unnecessary space & creates an impediment from the stove to the sink or anywhere else if you're actually trying to cook. Do you throw ingredients across the room over or under the table? Lol. This was designed in my opinion by someone who envisioned entertaining & not cooking in this space. And did it very badly. Bigger doesn't mean better or even good taste in my opinion of this hot mess! I will say the cabinetry looks well made...it was just designed poorly to fit this space.

A lovely space. The chairs aren't practical for me but the whole look is inviting and a space I'd enjoy cooking in and hanging out with friends and family. Everyone's usually in the kitchen when we gather.

I like it because it is something different. So many kitchens look the same and I find more interest in the style of this one.

It's an interesting space. Like others, I don't care for the stools. I don't mind the silhouette, but would prefer a different, more colorful, covering. The oddly shaped 'boxes' atop the large end cabinet and, I think, the refrigerator (on the right) would seem to serve no purpose, but appear merely to be design elements that, to me, don't add to the overall appearance of the kitchen. It's hard to discern but there are actually two islands with a space between them and there are sinks under both windows, and I suspect, a pot filler above the stove. I like this kitchen but probably wouldn't have selected its design. I do very much like the windows, the cabinet color and the counter top color.

Re: Chunky Look in the Kitchen...

I do like it as I am a fan of a dining table and chairs in a kitchen.  I would probably have picked out smaller chairs.  Also it does need color to perk it up but other than that I find it appealing, love the windows even though I like privacy.

Re: Chunky Look in the Kitchen...

@stevieb The word "chunky" is quite descriptive of the styling of this room.  I am not a fan of the chairs, although they do look quite comfortable with all of their padding.  I do not like the pendant lights or the corner cabinets with their unexpected shapes. Lastly, I tend to like darker cabinetry in the kitchen with contrasting/ighter countertop.  These light wood cabinets and white countertops are too close in color for me to find them visually appealing. The windows are lovely, though.

It is a very different kitchen than I normally see, so thank you for posting it.
