Re: Christmas tree out already!

And I thought it was still too early for Fall and Halloween decor.

What a great thread.  I'm enjoying all of the posts because most are saying 'do what makes you happy' and that's how I feel as well.  If a Christmas tree decorated during any month of the year makes you feel good, go for it.  If my neighbors decorate their porch for Christmas now, I'll go hang out a wreath and we'll all enjoy.  @Mominohio, my friend Mominohio, always has the best ideas and she enjoys Christmas music all during the year, good for her. Life really is too short to be too concerned with standard policies.

I don't blame you....I got one of the 9'  BL woodland trees (the Lisa Robertson tree) and I can hardly stand to wait to open the box. I may not be able to wait . Enjoy(:

Re: Christmas tree out already!

Hi, @Suzeecat!  It was collecting dust in the garage as it was!  I guess I will live with the accumu;ation.  (I wondered the same thing).

Good for you.  I'd rather put it up early than keep it up longer after.  I'm usually in a hurry to put it away after Christmas because it's just depressing for me to have it all be over.

One question though, what do you do about it collecting dust?  How do you dust a decorated Christmas tree?  Just wondering.

I have Pandora on shuffle all the time!  I always thumbs up Christmas songs!!!  Last year bought an iTwinkle tree. DH said it was the best tree ever! He kept taking me in the other room to look at it.  I bet we put it up extremely early this year.

The days are getting shorter and I feel the need for light.  DH will furrow his brow, but heck!  I can put it away again.  Call me crazy, but I'm enjoying it.

Your post inspired me to post a heartwarming story.  My sister lives next door to an older couple who own a lovely home with a large livingroom bay window.  While visiting my sister one day, I thought I noticed a tree in the neighbor's front window.  Thinking it was a live decorative tree getting some much needed light, I never gave it another thought...until yesterday.  I was at my sister's house and stayed longer than I usually do...and it was beginning to get dark outside.  Upon nearing my car, I could see the tree in the window...and what to my surprise..'it was a large, lit Christmas tree'!  I asked my sister about it and she said the neighbor (gentleman) was diagnosed with cancer around Christmas time last year and loved looking at the tree and lights.. His wife decided to keep the tree up all year long and lit at night so he could enjoy it, especially since he has to take chemo treatments.  Good news is that he's responding well to the treatments..

I can't help to think that his 'Christmas tree' was an integral part of his doing so well..

I love it!  I am full blown Halloween with my JS witches & fall out now.  I stated in another post I hope I do not need any appliance repairs, etc.  I don't know if I could explain it to the repairman/woman why I am decked out in full blown Fall/Halloween regalia!  I am at the point in my life I do as I dang well please.  Life is too short to dance with ugly men...!

Re: Christmas tree out already!

@BornToShop - Funny you should mention repairmen coming in and trying to explain the "decor" - I'm having the fireplace chimney inspected on Thursday and he'll see the tree in full regalia (and hopefully he is good looking!).
