I like this idea. My tree always has cords hanging down at the bottom from the lights, and its hard to hide them with a tree skirt. This would definitely work! You could always put fabric or a large tree skirt around or under the bottom of this as well.

last week C&B had a coupon and free shipping so I bought the galvanized one. I liked the weaved one but was afraid my cat my like it also as a scratching post. This collar is very very large. I cannot wait to put my tree up to see whether it works or looks overpowering. Right now it was a challenge to find a place to store this Smiley Happy

Good point. That would make it a deal breaker for me.

I considered buying a similar skirt (or collar) last year. The problem was finding one that was wide enough for my tree's base (artificial tree) and low enough that the lowest tree branches clear the top of the collar. In the end, I didn't buy one. But I like them.
